I just might have the “garden variety” flu.

New York City has about 4.5 times the amount of cases that the whole of Washington State has.

Wish you all the best.

Not meaning to be too argumentative, but the death rate is like 1 out of 10 million people. And probably only 1 out of 10 of those weren't already hanging by a thread from death.

I am curious as far as math goes what is 14,654 spread out over 7,700,000,000? A figure like 1 in 100,000,000?

I figure with so many cars off the road there will be far less deaths and injuries from traffic accidents.

A relitive who lives in Seattle and has a good view of many high rise apartments and condos says he has never seen so many lights on before. Almost every occupied unit it lit up because almost everyone is at home.

I wouldn't exactly refer to it as a magic potion. Much of our medicines are based on plants. And many plants have been around on this earth far longer than man. They have fought and won many battles with a variety of predators and its now integrated into their DNA structure. So essential oils is one way to merge their DNA with ours by absorbing a small amount into our blood and some of the effects can be of benefit.

Work called they reduced hours but want me to come work, course they might just fire me any day even if I do go work, so I could catch it and be fired anyways.
Mean the people shopping most don’t think it’s real so they come in sick. Same for employees.
If I go and wear gloves the others will make fun of me and call me a p****.

Work is out of hand Sanitizers, almost out of gloves, low on cleaning supplies.

Why do you keep talking about the problem with a lack of supplies at work without making any mention on an attempt to try and fix the issues with alternative sources of supplies?

Are you saying I should try to buy supplies for my work?

Not a bad idea. That is called taking the initiative. It is a good quality.

A lot of jokes aren't funny if your grandpa dies.

Dark humour is part of humanity, and it does serve as an emotional release.
It is really the attitude behind that humour which needs to be considered.

Is it a case of laughing in the face of adversity?
Is there malicious intent behind the comment?
Is it defiance against a circumstance we have no control over? :chin:

I'll have a quick look to see what Dr Google has to say about it, and get back to you.

I wonder what happens when infections start to hit food processing plants or grocery stores on mass, our government(Canada) keeps on saying that the supply chain is very strong, somehow I don't believe their reassuring lie. The moment there's one infection at any place of business, it shuts down it seems from what I keep reading. :|

Well, that was quick! 8O

Dark Sense of Humor Linked to High Intelligence - Study

People who appreciate taboo jokes and other forms of black humor show higher levels of intelligence, according to a recent study.

Do you find yourself holding back your laughter at tasteless or morbid jokes? An appreciation of black humor could be an indicator of intelligence levels, according to the findings of a new Austrian study published in the journal Cognitive Processing.
Intelligence

Intelligence Theory

Researchers at the Medical University of Vienna have found that the enjoyment of so-called ‘gallows humor’ is linked to high levels of both verbal and nonverbal intelligence. In an experiment led by psychologist Ulrike Willinger, they also found that participants who appreciated such jokes tend to be less aggressive than those with a more conventional sense of humor. The findings support psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud’s 1905 theory of humor, which proposes that “humour allows for a temporarily and relatively safe release of usually repressed sexual and aggressive urges in the form of wits” https://www.psychologistworld.com/cogni ... ence-study

To quote John Oliver: "WOW!"
I knew I was intelligent,
But I didn't know I was *that obscenely* intelligent.

EDIT:
And further:
Quote:
The researchers suggest that a higher level of aggression can interfere with a person’s ability to appreciate humor. They explain that, "Seemingly, only those subjects who have no aggressive feelings towards others as well as no mood disturbance such as dysphoric or depressive mood can afford or get away with playful exposure in the course of black humour processing."
