But despite his ADHD, and despite the possibility that he is on the autistic spectrum, it still doesn't excuse the irresponsible things he's said that has fed into people's paranoia and prejudice.
And by the way, do you know which on the air news personality has been diagnosed with Asperger's?
Kieth Olbermann.

Crossed my mind more that once, when watching Olbermann. Was he diagnosed, recently?

Crossed my mind even more with Rachael Maddow. I notice when she does a one on one interview out in the field she seems to avoid eye contact. Both her and Olbermann have a pedantic way of speaking. I think I read speculation about Olbermann somewhere, but haven't seen public speculation on Beck or Maddow regarding them possibly being on the Autism Spectrum, until Inuyasha mentioned it.

@Inuyasha where did you see information that Beck might be on the Autism Spectrum? I would be interested in reading that information, if you don't mind sharing it.

I don't know if he is or not but there are a few tells that seem familiar. It could just be his ADHD, but there are times his mannerisms seem to remind me of other people I've met whom are on the spectrum.

I've actually looked at some of the research he has posted online, and he tends to be quite thorough.

I'm embarassed to admit, I actually agreed with him today. 8O

Why should you be embarassed for keeping a somewhat open mind? He isn't crazy, like what his critics try to paint him as.

Thanks Inuyasha. Maybe its the ADHD that is commonly seen with people on the Autism Spectrum. I wondered before too, and didn't see anything related to it with a google search other than ADHD. .

I haven't met too many people though, on the Autism Spectrum, accomplish neat handwriting on a blackboard, the way Beck does. One reason, I never considered being a teacher.

The guy has definitely delt with Demons in his past that take many people down. I admire him for going to rock bottom and rising up to where he is now; although I don't always agree with his methods. That is one of the reasons I watch him.

I would go as far to say that he has close to what some might consider as creative genius; the closest other example of mankind I can think of is Robin Williams who also has ADHD.

It is part of the reason I think some people love Beck and love to hate him. A little bit of crazy often comes with creative genius; I don't think Beck would be one to deny that.

I don't know how he keeps up with that kind of energy; I'm afraid he might explode one day. It might be a good thing for his health to get away from the show, above and beyond the issues with his eyesight.

His hyperactivity is why he's always doing something.

He may have someone else do some of the writing and pictures on the chalkboard before the shows.

Didn't realize you actually watched him, or is that a typo?

I would say he's left Robin Williams in the dust in some respects. Glenn Beck has done thing I don't see Williams do: write books (novels, nonfiction, etc.), radio talk show, running his own company, running 2 websites (soon to be at least 3), television show, etc.

If Beck didn't try to be humorous on the show or on other shows it would be way too depressing to watch. Beck also tends to be creative as far as visual aids to explain to people complex subjects.

I'm think there may be a health issue going on, Fox News wouldn't be getting rid of the 3rd highest rated show (1st in Television News stations for that time slot) simply cause management and him don't see eye to eye. From what I've read the new agreement with Fox News has to do with a website, and several projects involving special programs to be aired.

Glenn Beck is: a writer (novels, nonfiction, children's books), radio talkshow host, a small business owner, television commentator, runs two websites, does comedy tours, is a researcher, is a keynote speaker at teaparty rallies, is going to be a producer, etc. It could be that his physical health is suffering from doing too much.

I also wouldn't be surprised if after a few monthes he ends up back on the air.

Before my eyesight got too bad to watch much TV, I often watched many of the shows on Fox, including Beck. I like to hear all points of view. Beck and Olbermann were two of the most interesting to me because the views expressed on those shows usually were diametrically opposed.
