What we need....is a nationalized distribution system.

And national single-payer health care for serious diseases.

Luckily there is still American ingenuity. My wife figured out that she might be able to substitute large ponytail hair bands in place of the elastic. So she sent me to store to fetch some. Well a few days ago I was shocked to find out that the manufacturer of marshmellow Peeps was shutting down production due to the coronavirus. So this was my opportunity to conduct a pirate raid and fetch some peeps in the process. Kill two birds with one stone.

The U.S. has now become the country with the most confirmed cases in the world surpassing China's reported numbers that everyone knows must be inaccurate.

There's no way I can prove it, but I would bet the real number of global cases is in the millions.

COVID-19 is still very far down the list of preventable things that cause death.

The odds of someone who is isolated catching COVID-19 are quite low.

Vulnerable people isolating is a reasonable compromise to shutting down the world as 95% of cases are mild.

In fact that is the usual compromise.

People who are extra vulnerable to the myriad of preventable things that kill people are told to take extra precautions.

In my opinion the only practical thing that can be done to reduce deaths from this virus is for the demographic it has been killing the most to isolate. But I do not think they should be forced to isolate. It should be their choice. That is unless they already have certain restrictions in place like I do.

To name umpteen preventable things that kill thousands of people, fair skinned people should avoid too much exposure to the sun to avoid skin cancer. Closing down beaches and outlawing sunbathing would not be a practical approach to reducing skin cancer deaths. People who are susceptible to skin cancer avoiding too much exposure to the sun is a practical and effective approach.

Including mild and asymptomatic cases, I think “millions” is plausible.

I would like to see the number of cases reach the millions since in all likelihood it actually is. Then it will be discovered that the percentage of deaths from COVID-19 is considerably lower than it looks right now. And the world can ease down from red alert panic mode.

Aren't their faces red now.

I think many people might be finally realising that.

There are still too many relatively healthy people getting in serious and critical condition.

If we let this run unbridled, there would be many more deaths and hospitalizations.

Nah, too much ego.

I hope so. I still have the same feeling I had a month ago. That looking back it will turn out that there was a huge overreaction to this thing.

Maybe in some parts of the US—but certainly not in New York.

Most likely all killer viruses have hotbeds. And they probably switch around annually.

PLACING THE COVID19 CORONAVIRUS IN THE PROPER PERSPECTIVE

I read the following article by Rich Kozlovich today published in Paradigms and Demographics
Coronavirus in Perspective, Part III

It tried to place the current COVID19 pandemic in relationship with other biological threats.

We keep hearing how amazingly dangerous, and how infectious this version of coronavirus is, which there are 40 of them, with estimates and predictions that are frightening the public to the point of hysteria. Hysteria that’s created a new affliction called moronavirus!

The hysteria is *almost* as bad as the Climate Change panic!

Action, yes.
Panic, no.
