It doesn't matter what the two of you believe on this issue, what matters is that the law of the state in question is that the age of consent is 18 years old.

The woman in this case clearly violated the law if Justin Bieber is the father of the child.

I'm quite aware of what the law is, as every post I've made in this thread has referred to the fact that I think its incredibly stupid. 18 is a completely unrealistic and unreasonable age. No, I'm actually viewing this as though you somehow think rape is okay because the victim is a boy and the perpetrator was a woman, that the boy somehow wanted this to happen. Age of consent laws exist for a reason (and quite honestly when it comes to hollywood and music stars the age of consent should probably be late 20s early 30s but that's another topic for another time).

The age of consent law is 18 years old, Justin Bieber would have had to have been 16 for the child to be his, and for all we know this could have been going on for years, if so that makes the situation even more damning for the woman.

I'm wondering if the woman should even have custody of the child, if Justin Bieber is the father, cause the woman has already sexually abused one kid.

This isn't a school situation where they went to the same school and we have a more innocent explanation.

I really dont understand these laws in the way they are applied to teenagers (19 is still a teenager). the mother was 19, Justin was 16....thats only 3 years difference. That is not like some 40 year old cougar and 16 year old Justin, which is what the laws were orignally made to prosicute. They laws were put in place so that a person with much more sexual experience, like a 40 year old could not hornswaggle an inexperienced minor into having sex. Because they lack adult sexual experience, minors are unable to manuver around an adult's sexual expertise...which was why the law was created.
However there is not much difference in the sexual experience of a 19 year old and a 16 year old these days.
Even if it were a 19 year old boy and a 16 year old girl....it is still just 3 years difference.
In the eyes of the law, a 14 year old can have sex with a 17 year old....(when I was 14, I had a 17 year old boyfriend...although my dad did not approve, no one arrested him), yet that law has a dividing line that is too sharp and kids are getting their lives cut up in it.
I dont consider 19 years old an adult because they still cant drink. Now if it was a 21 year old and a 16 year old, that is alot different in most cases, than 16 and 19.

The law should excuse those who are 3 1/2 years or less years apart if the couple are on both sides of minor and adult, But like I said, lets be reasonable, a 19 year old cant even legally drink, a 19 year old does not have the full legal rights as an adult, yet they are being treated like one in examples like this. Did you know that the brain is not fully developed until the early 20's? I learned that in my child psychology class. At 19, she was still developing which classifies her as a child, biologically.

Normally there's a gigantic difference in maturity between a 16-year old boy and a 19-year old woman. And how many 19-year old women are Bieber fans? He looks like he's 13, not 17.
We are soon to learn that she's actually engaged to the real father of the baby and that it was just a scam in order to get famous.
