Herman Cain. Silver spoon?

regardless of how he grew up, he has silver spoon values NOW. he has nothing but undisguised contempt for others who are not as successful as he, just like all the rest of the right-wing crowd. i would like the guy a whole lot better if he didn't get too big for his britches [IOW arrogant]. anybody who says to the chronically unemployed [in today's jobless and job-exporting economy] to just "get a job" either is a condescending hypocrite or else just isn't "all there," AFAIC. i say, a pox on all of 'em. :x

Problem with your statement is that Herman Cain actually practiced what he is preaching and that's why he managed to become wealthy, through hard work and perserverence. Your attacks on him are completely baseless and without merit.

It's not a matter of Cain working hard to get to where he's at now. Rather, it's about how he's so scornful and disconnected when it comes to less fortunate people - people who in fact have been left behind by Wall Street and the captains of industry.

Hey genius, my family is having problems too, however I think the spoiled brats at Occupy Wall Street need to grow up. How is targetting retailers going to help things? Huh? This "Spread the Wealth Around," is nothing more than feeling you deserve what someone else worked hard for, and quite frankly I'm sick of it.

First off, you need to breathe.... that's it, breathe, and calm down.

Not everyone in OWS is in college, and those who are aren't all rich by any means. And secondly, it's not a matter of them wanting what's someone else' without working for it, but rather wanting Wall Street to stop stepping on ordinary people while reaping all the rewards. Seeing the Wall Street bastards who had almost sunk the economy led away in handcuffs would go a long way to dispelling the OWS' people's rage.

And by the way, I sincerely wish you a happy Thanksgiving.

It goes like this: I got mine, now you go and get yours.

Very simple. Self made people can be very unsympathetic toward the unsuccessful. Most of the unsuccessful are so, because they are lazy or stupid. Some truly are the victims of ill-fortune. It is important to make this distinction. I am inclined to help the truly unfortunate. Why? Someday it may be my turn to take a fall through no fault of my own. That is why I record books for dyslexic and blind folks. I am sure they did not bring misfortune on themselves because of stupidity and self indulgence. And who knows. Someday it may be my turn to be blind. I am already half deaf, so who knows?

Now THIS is class warfare.

Well at least you re brutallly revealing about your own life. But it seems the first sentence explains the issue. I doubt it is because they are lazy or stupid. It is because they have no direction and haven't taken up the right attitudes.

But we shouldn't let society continue that state of affairs by stopping people from rising the ladder, which you have failed to explain.

And why is that? Because they are lazy or because they are stupid. I have direction and right attitudes attained on my initiative and by my own efforts. If I can do it, so can they -if the so chose-. But they didn't so choose. Their fault.

I am not duty bound to help the terminally lazy and stupid of the world. I will not put an impediment in their way, but neither will I make any effort to help them. I say let them perish of their own deficiency.

And the fact of the matter is, most of us get by without ever becoming rich and successful, and we're perfectly happy.

Why isn't this (and a several other threads in News) not in PPR?
