If SOPA or PIPA actually does get passed, the American public will explode with outrage, and I will certainly be right in the middle of it. In fact, I'd be very much willing to go right to Washington to protest or something!

I mean cmon guys, we can't just let the government come in all of the sudden and say "Sorry, but because Hollywood feels threatened for some reason, you can't post this material, and we're gonna shut down this entire site." It would not only destroy the idea of a free web, but would also risk millions of jobs for certain websites like Google, Wikipedia, and YouTube.

If it looks like a popular groundswell against these atrocious laws, Obama will bravely oppose them.

Especially if the Republicans like these laws.

Well in fact, Republicans were the ones that started the DMCA and DRM as part of the copyright stuff, looked it up on Wikipedia that it was one specific Republican that was I guess a Tea Party Republican that got this out.

Students freak out over "Wiki withdrawal":

http://gawker.com/5877192/stupid-high-s ... a-blackout

And yes, I failed in my quest to not use the net for a whole day. I got up and checked my email, and it went downhill from there. I'm hopeless.

and in terms if SOPA and PIPA, it's bad and it is also borderline cyber-imperialism. The industry can crack down on domains, foreign and domestic

WHAT THE HELL, IT IS IMPERIALISM..in that sense
