I was surprised to hear that the suspect was fatally shot. Usually either the suspect of mass school shooting kills himself or is arrested. I just looked up the guy who went on a killing spree at an elementary school, and he died from a self inflicted gunshot wound. Can anyone think of a school shooter who has been killed by the police? I don't want to jump to any conclusions

It is very unusual for a school rampage killer to be killed by law enforcement. A very famous case was Charles Whitman, The Texas Tower Sniper

But the main reason for the successful conclusion to the Texas Tower Sniper was the inclusion of a patriotic "stupid" civilian, Allen Crum, who foolishly got involved.

I say "foolishly" when talking about this brave citizen because he did not do things in the practical and logical method police departments use today. But what do I mean about "practical and logical?"

Police departments (in real life) don't want "hero" officers. They MUST abide by the rules. The rules say you must contain the subject and try to negotiate. Everyone wants to go home to their wife and kids at the end of the day. This is why you have the results you do in hostage situations. In fact the most egregious event I've heard of is when someone held a preacher hostage in a church and a gunshot was heard from inside...when the police finally entered six hours later they found the preacher had, eventually, bled to death ....I always wondered what the police department's master plan was in this situation.

The brave young man who stopped the Ohio shooter just didn't know any better (maybe he got away with a stern warning).

And finally:
So in acting out, this Muslim shooter justifies suspicion against Muslims...the exact thing he was screaming and complaining about. Is this the definition of "irony?"
