Again, nobody cares about Hollywood celebrity whining. Think about how elitist and stupid Streep is for saying that celebrities and the press have it so tough and to liking their plight to immigrants who they repeatedly and purposely erroneously say that Trump is universally against and wants to deport. Her little jibe at football and MMA shows utter contempt for whats outside her walls, Streep most definitely is the most overrated Holllywood actresses/actors of all time by the way, she gets nominated a ridiculous amount of times for these awards and I'm looking at her films and there aren't that many that I recognize as being good. Useful idiot celebrities can run their mouth's all they want tho, they're hurting their causes not helping. Trump will trash his enemies, always has and always will and now the he has the power of the presidency behind him. So hung up about tweets, talk about thin skin!

if people disagree with and object to a (coming) authority figure, and they are not alone, they can and WILL stand up to make their own voices heard, and to hold this person accountable for what he says.

to function, a democracy cannot turn a blind eye to those in power even for a second.

people should not just roll over and be passive simply because something that they do not like has happened, that may affect them negatively. that is a dangerous attitude to hold.

But he's not even in office yet. What's it going to be like with these people AFTER he's in office??

That is this authoritarian mindset that is scary. So what he will do? Use his newfound powers to put his opponents to jail or something? Short of that I don't see how he could "trash" his so called "enemies".

Anyway, a few years ago you considered Trump only as a troll; what made you change your opinion of him to the point of see him as some kind of messiah?

I know, it's just going to be horror, pure horror, and an endless string of terrifying news like this:

U.S. Small-Business Optimism Index Surges by Most Since 1980

--NFIB gauge jumps to 105.8 in month after presidential election
--Expectations for business conditions are highest since 2002

Optimism among America’s small businesses soared in December by the most since 1980 as expectations about the economy’s prospects improved dramatically in the aftermath of the presidential election.

Just going to put this out there: being disabled does not mean you are protected against criticism and mockery, especially if you're a journalist. It's hypocritical to criticize someone for his opinions and simultaneously complain because he did the same to someone else. In fact I'd be offended if someone would refuse to criticize or mock me because I was born different.

You don't seem to understand that these celebrities can say what they want about Trump but so can Trump and everyone else about them. What's a bigger deal, whose punches carry more weight? Being trashed by some snobbish actor or by the POTUS and his millions of supporters?

Media executives have weaponized celebrity, these actors/singers/etc are useful idiots for corporate interests beyond their very limited comprehensions. The truth is, if one of these celebrities spoke out of turn in support of Trump then they would be ostracized and blacklisted from Hollywoodso there heavy amount of intimidation and coercion going on. THAT is an authoritarian mindset, let us remind everybody once again that Hollywood is a place that gives celebrates and gives standing ovations to pedophilia so their support for the Clinton's is pretty self explanatory.

Huh?Of course I get that Streep can say what she wants and Trump also has the right to say what he wants. It depends on your point of veiw on who you want to listen to.
Pedophiles are everywhere,in schools, churches,I don't think Hollywood has an exclusive on them.

There is just some especially powerful and protected ones there, it's a huge issue in the industry and not one they take seriously as they openly support child rapist Roman Polanski like Streep has and does. Hollywood is in no position to lecture anybody, immoral disgusting idolatry. Hollywood's obsession with giving itself awards and titles to themselves reminds me of how dictators love awarding themselves medals, Streep is one of the worst offenders.

Your running commentary on how Trump is infallible and anyone who disagrees with him or finds him distasteful and says so is a 'useful idiot' isn't very accurate. Also trump is showing his thin skin with all his tweets, if it matters so little what some overrated actress says why doesn't he and his supporters just get over it?

That said celebrities are still citizens of the country they reside, so american celebrities are citizens and thus have just a much a right to express their opinions as anyone else....also kind of a double standard to act like someone being a celebrity makes their opinion not matter, yet when t.v celebrity trump runs everything he says gets eaten up by you and his other supporters.

Why can't Trump trash whoever he wants? This is getting over it, if Streep wants to play that game then she shouldn't expect not to catch flak as Trump responds to his critics. Again, I don't have an issue with these dodos speaking out as I think your average American doesn't hold them in very high regard so attacking the cult of celebrity is just more red meat. Also it's not just I don't care to hear from Streep, what she said was both stupid and unbelievably elitist. Piers Morgan seems to get it.

Looking at her movies, she is most definitely overrated compared to the recognition she has gotten. She really has not been in many good movies, a lot of boring crap. I liked 'The Deer Hunter', she just as well could of not been in that tho.

Streep DOES have freedom of speech- and she did it in a mature manner. Trump responded with insults. Also there is a huge difference between freedom of speech and bullying. Trump regularly namecalls and bullies people. He isnt just instantly protected due to freedom of speech.

I honestly wouldn't put it past Trump to try to get laws in place to get people arrested for saying things he hates. He's a thin skinned bully that needs to grow up. I will once again say he is 70 years old! No sane mature adult acts that way- I will only make an exception for comedians. Trump is going to be president- joke time is over. His excuse of "I was just kidding" will not fly all the time like it did before. His excuse of "I didnt say that" will also not fly anymore. When he clearly says something- it is NOT doctored, no matter how hard people want to think Trump is 100 percent honest, he isnt.

Also I want to make reference to Trump walking into dressing rooms- he admitted to this! It's not BS. Many girls were under 18. That's sick and not normal!

He needs to man up or shut up, its that simple. This isnt just in reference to his tweets on Twitter, its in reference to anytime he says something in an interview, conference and so on.
