I do not advocate violent revolution, but I see your point.

How well off do you have to be in Alabama to get a concealed carry permit, a handgun, and enough practice to defend yourself against rapists? Somehow I don't think the poor can do this.

My point is that if we do nothing, it won’t stop with abortion. Next they’ll have stricter sentences for marijuana (especially for people of color), they’ll reinstate Prohibition, and creationism and Holocaust denial will be part of school curriculum.

Alabama is just like Germany was between 1933-1945.

How can I live my dream of being nekkid in public while drunk, stoned, and on shrooms?

Onoes! We're headed for a disaster of Biblical proportions! Old Testament, real wrath-of-God type stuff! Locusts in the fields! Blood in the water! Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness. Earthquakes! Volcanoes! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!

Seriously, though, I also see where this is headed. We're being legislated back into the kind of society that existed before the advent of The Pill, Civil Rights, and the Women's Suffrage Movement -- back to the day when any husband could beat his wife, and any father could beat his children, and no one would care.

There actually are many instances where dogs and cats get along like a "couple."

One thing's for sure. If any of these states try to re-enforce the sodomy laws, I will absolutely raise hell.

George Carlin puts this whole "sanctity of life" argument into perspective.

As our resident WP foreigner it seems to me Alabama has a history of backward government policies stretching back to the confederacy?

Does this say something about the population of such states? are there similar veins of anti-abortion sentiment in bible bashing folk in Mississippi, Kentucky?

The most powerful country in the world has first world living standards but a voting public with third world brains....

The only good states in the U.S.:

Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Minnesota, Illinois, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine.

Unfortunately, I have been priced out of nearly all of those states.

Ohio signed one of those heartbeat bills into law—a bill that John Kasich vetoed twice.

Ahhh ok, Chapelle says Yellow Springs is progressive island in a sea of Trump voters so (yes) that makes sense now. Also makes sense why he lives in Yellow Springs and not in rural Ohio.

if you're willing to do a lotta driving to and fro, parts of washington state are still relatively affordable both in buying property as well as local cost of living. but get here soon, we're gettin' californicated by the SECOND now.
