[sarcasm]Right.... people who pay no attention to politics and news media whatsoever are always the smartest, most well-educated people in the nation. Now if you'll excuse me, there's all day marathons of South Park, and reality TV on MTV that's calling my name. Gotta watch them before Alex Jones releases his next webisode online tonight.[/sarcasm]
The people who don't watch the news are ill-informed. The people who watch the news are misinformed.
Not untrue, but it still doesn't change my point. One should question everything they learn and make their own informed decisions based upon available data and information. There are total idiots on the left, there are total idiots on the right. Self-improvement, education, and often even personal hobbies are typically met with cynicism and disdain in modern America in general, which I assumed was the point of this thread. Case in point, I guess....
*Full disclosure, I really do have about five hours of South Park to watch today, but sometimes we all need a break from reality. Alex Jones, on the other hand, isn't anywhere near classifiable as information or media. Once could learn more truth from watching episodes of South Park. I feel that YouTube ought to have kept running his videos, provided the server forced a running ticker fact checking everything he said with links to real sources of information. His information being banned simply reinforces the idea that "everyone is afraid" of the things he spews like a busted septic line.
