Remind me again, who keeps bringing up never giving an inch in an argument as if that's something to be proud of? The truth is you're a lousy debater, you're hopelessly partisan, prone to making unsupported assertions and refusing to back off of them, you cite laughably biased sources when you bother to cite any at all, you can't follow many points, even your own on occasion, and you employ the full suite of logical and informal fallacies to avoid ever having to admit that you or your party are ever wrong, I only bother with you because you post a lot and give me plenty of easy spots to tee off of to make my points. I'm more afraid of looking like a bully picking on you than I am of any argument you've ever put forward; that's not hubris, that's an honest assessment based on years of experience, and any clear eyed third party would tell you the same thing privately.


I'm going to believe the feds over insane, racist fanatics who claim they're really Israel, lament the end of a white America, and grouse about how whites - supposedly a superior race - are the victims of the "great replacement." That's not to mention the acts of violence and murder they've committed. I fail to see why anyone would take their part, save for that they support such racist trash.
If arguing with me is such a chore, why do it?

Again, you're not helping yourself here. Let me help you; I don't trust the FBI and the national security state because they're always looking for reasons to expand their powers, Muslim terrorism in the 00s, domestic terrorism now, and you don't have to be a radical Islamist or a white supremacist to wonder if they play up the threat in order to justify a bigger budget, more hiring, and greater spying authority. That's just one reason, your professed inability to think of it or any others besides white supremacy is what the kids these days call a self own.

There's also this part of me that always thinks you're on the verge of getting it, that surely this time I'll be able to get you to take a step back and realize that you had some information wrong, or that your logic doesn't work and you need to reassess, that's my own autism there, that stubborn hope that this time the result will be different than all the other times.

Finally, there's the trash clean up aspect, I don't like seeing the board dominated by false information and bad takes and echo chamber circle jerks, and since no one else seems to want to do it, I step up.

Why are you so eager to defend white nationalists? Why can't you consider the possibility that racists with too many guns, and plans to hurt people they don't approve of, as a threat?
Do I believe everything the FBI has said? Of course not. But that was mostly during the Hoover years, when the right were praising the feds. Can't you consider the possibility that hateful racists are a genuine threat?

You really don't get it at all, do you? You really should know better than to try and pin white supremacy on me of all people, just because I don't think they're an overwhelming threat, rather than a bunch of edgy kids and dead enders playing games in the woods. I didn't think rank and file Muslims were a threat in the 00s either, and I called out those fake terror plots the feeb claimed to have thwarted then, as I'm calling out the fake domestic terror they're fomenting now, because I'm consistent, something you can't seem to understand, my opinion doesn't change according to whose ox is being gored.

Maybe I'm not accusing you of white nationalism. Maybe I'm trying to get you to remember why you're not.
Sure, rank and file Muslim Americans weren't any sort of threat, and most idiots playing soldier in the woods aren't, either. But a small number of both groups are, and in particular, white nationalists who got signals from Trump - legit or otherwise. It's those small number of fanatics who will always go beyond the bounds of sanity and pose a real threat.

Yes, small number of both Muslims and white supremacists will occasionally do something bad, as will Bernie Sanders volunteers apparently, but what you need to remember is that when budgets and power are hanging on stopping plots, there comes a real temptation to overstate the threat or even nudge things along. If you recall, most of the violence that has come from both groups in the 2010s has been lone wolves acting alone, whether ISIS radicalized domestic Muslims as in California or Florida, or individual racists in the South, it's never been an organized plot that has done damage, and every time the FBI claims to have thwarted a plot, careful examination of their documents tends to reveal that their informants have in fact been the "masterminds", that nothing likely would have gone past angry talk if the FBI hadn't inserted itself and driven the "plot" themselves. This isn't new, it was certainly done during the civil rights and counter culture era, and they're still doing it now, just the targets have changed according to current politics.

If the Democrats remove him conservatives will say "you spent all year whining about Trump, saying follow the results and now you are spitting in the face of the will of the voters". Conservatives who call for his removal are open to claims about about being hypocrites about cancel culture.

Beyond the hypocrisy charges, there is concern about further delegitimizing the election process, ie. a slippery slope.
