It's worse than those stories about coal miners.

*shivers*

I just hope they imploded quickly without warning.

Nah; this one is the Titan, not Titanic.

I know.I was speaking more generally because this happened during a dive to the Titanic wreckage.

Fair.

Gotta say, some of the submarine memes have been absolute fire. Truly laugh out loud hilarious dark humour stuff. There’s even a lesbian one! Ha.

As for the sun itself, apparently a debris field was found near the titanic about an hour or so ago but from the post I read they’re not sure if it’s the sun or unrelated. Haven’t heard any recent updates about hearing banging on 1/2 hour intervals. So, maybe they’re actually goners by now - which is sad on the loss of life front if true.

I made a bet with the foreman in work about the fate of the submarine for 6 hot dogs.

Anyway. Apparently two large pieces of the submarine have been found.

Dang, already some more dark humour for break time tomorrow.

In all seriousness though, what on earth will possess people to jump onboard that thing? I watched a video about the submarine minutes ago and it looked like it has a CO2 scrubber made from a Tupperware container.

The owner of the sub is quoted saying:

“You know, at some point, safety just is pure waste. I mean, if you just want to be safe, don’t get out of bed. Don’t get in your car. Don’t do anything.”

Perhaps, a deep dive in a submarine is not where safety should be neglected.

There were George Floyd-Derek Chauvin memes--uncalled for.

But there were also some Simpsons ones that were good.

Pieces of the sub were finally found and they think it imploded, which is honestly the best case scenario. By the time it was found they would have already ran out of oxygen and died. It's a lot better to die in basically not even a second than to stay alive for days, terrified in a dark, cramped space w/o enough food or water (and probably sitting in your own s**t and piss at that point + the s**t and piss of 4 other people), and slowly start to suffocate + experience everyone else with you start to suffocate and die. What a horrible (but stupid and avoidable) situation.

I smell a huge lawsuit on the horizon by the affected families.

I don't understand the appeal of doing it tbh. The sub has no windows lmaooo so I don't even understand how it works. How do they see anything? Is it through a camera? Wouldn't it be just as informative to watch close-up footage on a huge TV screen at home? It's not like they can touch anything or walk around inside the Titanic either way. Is it just an ego thing to say you did it, even if it was free?

Hamish Harding's widow is a direct descendant of two survivors of the Titanic.

I mean I wouldn't have gotten on there even if I was offered a billion dollars to do so. So, I don't really see the appeal either.

Explained it pages ago.. the appeal is exploration, adventure, and exclusivity. Very little of the ocean has been explored by any humans, sooo.. those that have the means and desire to go Might just give it a whirl just because they can.

Well at least they did not suffer.I feel so sorry for them and their families and loved ones. The families and the personal injury lawyers are going to make a huge amount of money from this it looks like.
