What's "masc"? Is that short for mascara?

Interesting theory, what scientific studies do you have that shows wearing mascara helps prevent the spread of infections?

Pshaw have you never heard of Dr. Max Factor? His research has been extensive and praised by both Dr. Fauci and Dr. Tegnell. Found HERE

I do.

Yet it may or may not be the mask itself.
But the inconveniences of dealing with rhinitis while at it. :x

The masks doesn't help me sneeze less...
Nor apparently have less allergy reactions or react with irritants less.

It only gets in the way -- I cannot put the mask down, drain any damning thing out of my head and breathe easier.
Nope, I got a soaking mask and a likely a *disgustingly from the nose* soaking face underneath the mask.

And the masks doesn't lessen the paranoia around me because of these reactions/behaviors. :x

Breathing with my mouth would feel like breathing with recycled air. :? If not that, it's muffled to begin with.
If not that, my face starts to sweat, my glasses fogs...
Getting another soaking face underneath the mask, and another soaking mask.

I had to listen to that audio clip backwards before I understood the relevance to the question I asked. I am afraid to try their suggestion because they failed to explain how to hide the taste of ingesting the mascara. Can you provide a better link that isn't a straw man argument?

One thing I intend to try when I go back to work is to tape the top of the mask with a bandaid as surgeons who wear glasses apparently swear by this, and they are people who have worn masks for hours at a time. There's also plenty of sprays you can find on Amazon that reduce fogging, as well as something called Cat Crap which you might be able to find at WalMart or other stores. If not, Amazon has it.

Other than having to find some way to keep my glasses from fogging up, I don't mind masks as it means I'm protecting others more than myself. I also know that for a while, I'm going to have to wear a mask whenever I'm on company property, so it's something I'm willing to deal with for as long as necessary after being vaccinated. My job isn't essential enough for me to get the vaccine sooner, so it might not be until the spring before that happens.

On additional thing to do as per my optician: wear your mask a bit high so your glasses sit over top of the top edge of it & the top of the mask is closer to your eyeballs and your glasses a bit farther out on your nose so there’s a greater gap between the inside of your lenses and your breath that’s coming upwards = less fogging.

If they’re cheap plastic safety glasses, one thing that’s worked wonders on job sites is to take a screw and drill a few holes across the top of the lens. The vents really help prevent fogging.

As for the vaccine, since people who’ve had both vaccine shots Might still be able to contract and transmit the virus asymptomatically, everyone has to continue mask wearing right through most of 2021 until everyone can be vaccinated and herd immunity achieved - approx September 2021, but who knows, could run overtime. Some say December 2021.

This works quite well for me, although it's essential to have a mask with an embedded metal strip because that can be moulded into shape around the bridge of your nose.
I've found some that have a plastic strip and as those can't be bent to obtain a close fit, they make the situation much worse.

I put my glasses over my mask to prevent it from constantly sliding down and exposing my nasal airways defeating the purposes of wearing a mask. Before I started doing this I would constantly have to pull the mask up exposing my face to whatever virus is out there and concurrently if I am carrying the virus putting the virus from my hands wherever I put my hands.

This technique does cut my lower field of vision.

^ It might help to have the elastic ear loops worn as a figure-of-eight: the upper part goes under your ear and the lower part, over it. This should pull it on a little tighter and hopefully stop the sliding.

↑↑ I bought a set of "custom" masks that fit better when I wore them upside-down!

I took some peoples advice here by putting the top of my mask under my glasses and they didn't fog up so thank you everyone. Now I can stop looking like a COVID denier-anti mask-Trump lover-Karen.

I don't think anyone really enjoys wearing their masks, but it sure beats getting sick, and possibly even dying.

Do you personally really fear the virus that much? This is a serious question.

Why are you equating respect for other people with fear? :? They’re not the same thing.

Masks do more to protect others from us than the other way around. That’s why they say “Namaske,” - my mask protects you, your mask protects me.

If everyone does their part by masking up then the virus spreads very little and the cases that do occur are with so low a quantity of active virus cells that almost all cases are asymptomatic vs someone breathing in a heavy breath full of active virus cells and potentially dying.

As for peoples’ level of fear for themselves, well, it’s a bit of a crapshoot whether you’re asymptomatic, have permanent organ damage, or maybe die... soooo, being extra cautious if they fear the worst is understandable.

Do people really fear dying when they wear their seatbelts?

No I am not scared of the virus. If it happens it happens. I am wearing the mask because I want to help not spread the disease and keep it low. It spreads again when everyone ignores the mask and social distancing rules and I am also anxious for the vaccine to come out but I also know there will be vaccine deniers who won't take it but those who do take the vaccine will still be protected and let those deniers get very sick and die. I will look on the bright side.
