imagine thought, if even a very few of them were pros, just what more damage they could have done. there would have been major blood spilt if that were the case, rather than the ragtag mob of morons they were.
I was watching a Four Corners documentary on our national broadcaster the ABC. The investigative journalist Liz Ferguson was among the foreign journalist who followed the insurrection in live. One of the more interesting things she picked up on her microphone was MAGAs using military language organising ways to kill congressmen. As with the Charlottesville riots the FBI appear to have underestimated the presence of both military and para-military with military training among the rioters.
In addition to pipe bombs and other improvised weapons, there appeared an organised plan to get the US congressmen to be herded into the underground bunkers (which was supposed to be secret but they seemed to have prior intel) where some of the MAGAs had gas which they were going to pump into the vents to suffocate the congressmen.
According to Liz Ferguson the role of police officer Eugene Goodman saved many US senator's lives in drawing the MAGAs away from where the congressmen were.
The documentary made it clear that in addition to serving/ex military that they were using intel that could only have been passed to them from members of the GOP.
So not only was this a professional job but republicans might have collaborated in an attempt to assassinate sitting members of the US senate which (if my interpretation is correct) is an act of terrorism to possibly incite a civil war.
