Erm, it's Canada's other national sport. It ranks behind hockey but ahead of lacrosse.
I don't know why most people prefer hockey to lacrosse. Esp ice hockey where you can barely tell who has the puck because they all look the same.
Also getting multiple teeth knocked out just for a trophy. Lacrosse is actually FUN.
Have you played ice hockey before? It's a ridiculously high-tempo sport which makes it really interesting on a mental level because there's a lot happening at any moment and plays develop very quickly. It's very demanding to play, but at least personally I've always found it to be my favourite sport to participate in. Lacrosse is also pretty high tempo, but I've only ever played boxla, not the outdoor type.
I'm not sure the players are harder to tell apart than lacrosse or gridiron football players, they all got helmets on that cover at least part of their face, but at least a black puck has high contrast against white ice so it's easy to follow. Anyways, you should be wearing a mouthguard for either hockey or lacrosse, they're both pretty rough. Lacrosse can be rougher even; men's lacrosse allows crosschecking, but it's banned in hockey.
One thing I do appreciate about lacrosse though is that there's the Iroquois Nationals, who are the national team of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

Maybe I just resent not being able to keep up. Can you actually play?

Is it just done for showing off?
Maybe gangsters do it before making deals / threats, for macho points
(eg the creepy bald one in Rush Hour 2.. He actually looked more like Voldemort than what the film showed)...
Texans like to eat fried rattkesnake.Maybe at one time it was because someone was actually hungry. They claim it tastes like chicken but bony.No thanks.
In some Asian countries they make some sort of tonic out of them. They should just stick with herbs.

That said we can blame China for attempting to silence information about the coronavirus and which resulted in it becoming much more widespread than it should've been.
The zoonotic mode of transmission from animals to humans in Wuhan is fairly well agreed to be the most likely way the virus jumped into humans. Poorly cooked bat meat is also the most likely source of the virus,
I prefer to have definite conclusions rather than probabilities and guesswork, if at all possible. The fact-checker article I looked at said that snake was also a likely source of the virus. But so far, we have no definite answers.
Edit:After looking at an actual research paper, it seems that the most likely origin are bats and that the determined place of origin is the Wuhan Seafood Market, However, the Seafood market does not sell bats. So, the researchers thought that it more likely jumped to an intermediate animal like a pangolin, snake, or other animal. Or may have infected some sort of food or snack and then jumped to humans. However, they also note that they can't make a definite conclusion.
Specifically a seafood market, or just a wet market?
Sorry was having dinner, the paper specifically says seafood market in Wuhan

Could be during the Gold Rush, some people had no choice. Hasn't Botox something to do with snakes too? Oh I just had a thought. Many famous people must be panicking because they can't go get cosmetic procedures done, for an indefinite period.
Actually some of those things need maintenance.
Imagine an XYX plastic surgery job bursting/collapsing but you can't have it looked at.

It’s because our economies and politics are so intertwined that almost all the stupid s**t they do down their affects our country. Imagine having Tiger King for a next door neighbour & business partner and you’ll understand why Canadians have something to say about the s**tshow south of the border.

Snake venom is used in many medicines, possible cancer cures. The snake is “milked”for its venom and gets to live another day.

I know people who live in Canada and not a single one of them is transfixed and obsessed by the U.S. or its politics. None of them believe that Canada is an unwilling conjoined lesser twin to the U.S, unable to function effectively because of U.S. politics/economy. In fact I know an expat couple who moved to Canada more than twenty years ago and have since become Canadian citizens. Save for a few relatives still back in the U.S., Canada is everything to them. The U.S. doesn't factor into their daily lives at all and in no way occupies their thoughts.

How many of them? You've had multiple Canadians you know tell you the exact opposite of your claims in this thread.

I was looking up that villain from Rush Hour, to see if the actor is actually a criminal, since he plays one so well. But anyway poor Jackie Chan.
He posted on twitter that during this pandemic scammers pretending to be him, are contacting people and trying to get their money (presumably for a Covid-19 related 'good cause').
I don't know why someone would do this with such a good person's name. Well I guess they are hoping people will be blinded by the reputation and admiration they feel for him and believe it.

I refuse to believe that most Canadians are obsessed with the U.S. or have an inferiority complex about their own country in comparison. I have traveled in Canada including going to Folklarama in Winnipeg multiple times, for example and talking with people while there about many different topics. I also worked at a casino just south of the Canadian border in which my job was interacting with what amounted to thousands of Canadians over the course of working there. Not once do I recall in my conversations with them that any were fixated on the U.S. or talked about the U.S. being an overwhelming negative force keeping the good Canadians down. These conversations also took place after work hours in the bar where surely the topic would have come up if it was a commonly shared trait of Canadians in general to hate on the U.S.
