Streep vs Trump
Pedophiles are everywhere,in schools, churches,I don't think Hollywood has an exclusive on them.
There is just some especially powerful and protected ones there, it's a huge issue in the industry and not one they take seriously as they openly support child rapist Roman Polanski like Streep has and does. Hollywood is in no position to lecture anybody, immoral disgusting idolatry. Hollywood's obsession with giving itself awards and titles to themselves reminds me of how dictators love awarding themselves medals, Streep is one of the worst offenders.

What does Streep's acting ability have to do with her criticizing Trump? I'm not a fan of her but she is justified in taking the opportunity to speak out. The rest of us don't get that chance. I would have done the same thing had I been given the opportunity.
And do any of you Trump supporters really think Trump and the GOP are going to protect disabled people? Think he's going to make sure you have access to healthcare? The GOP certainly doesn't care about the disabled, poor, or old. They don't care about people on Medicaid, Medicare, and SSI. They don't care about people who are unable to be rich, young, and healthy. They don't care if you can afford health insurance They don't care if the deductibles are even higher. They don't care about me and my problems. They don't care about my sister who has cancer. And unless you are wealthy, young, and healthy they don't care about you. Read their proposals. Read and watch what comes out of Paul Ryan's mouth. That isn't fake news.
Quit worrying about Streep and call your Senators, if you supported Trump tell them, and then tell them not to hurt the people who need help keeping/obtaining healthcare the most. The ACA isn't perfect. None of the programs are perfect but they need fixed, not axed or weakened.
I already called both of my Senators. I doubt it will matter but if enough people call maybe they will get scared. I'm sure the GOP doesn't want to lose Congress in two years.

Well that rape accusation was made up by a former producer for Jerry Springer by the name of Norm Lubow, there never was a "victim" and the case was dropped/dismissed when this became apparently. 100% fake news.
Pretty much all the 'October Surprise' nonsense from the MSM was fake news

Perhaps Democrats should of given me something to be thankful for, I don't feel very welcomed. Rand Paul has made calls that the GOP should only repeal Obamacare when they have a replacement ready, Trump called him and echoed those statements. Trump is to the left of the GOP on healthcare and entitlements, he should be the least scary in this regard but fear mongering and fake news are taking their tolls. Likewise how I hear from all these 'allies' how anti-LGBT Trump is when he's the most pro-gay rights president ever elected to his first term, remember Obama opposed gay marriage in 2008 just like Hillary Clinton and they only changed their opinions when it became politically expedient. So much of the stuff out there about Trump is simply not true.
I know, it's just going to be horror, pure horror, and an endless string of terrifying news like this:
U.S. Small-Business Optimism Index Surges by Most Since 1980
--NFIB gauge jumps to 105.8 in month after presidential election
--Expectations for business conditions are highest since 2002
Optimism among America’s small businesses soared in December by the most since 1980 as expectations about the economy’s prospects improved dramatically in the aftermath of the presidential election.

Do they even care about business?

Your running commentary on how Trump is infallible and anyone who disagrees with him or finds him distasteful and says so is a 'useful idiot' isn't very accurate. Also trump is showing his thin skin with all his tweets, if it matters so little what some overrated actress says why doesn't he and his supporters just get over it?
That said celebrities are still citizens of the country they reside, so american celebrities are citizens and thus have just a much a right to express their opinions as anyone else....also kind of a double standard to act like someone being a celebrity makes their opinion not matter, yet when t.v celebrity trump runs everything he says gets eaten up by you and his other supporters.
Why can't Trump trash whoever he wants? This is getting over it, if Streep wants to play that game then she shouldn't expect not to catch flak as Trump responds to his critics. Again, I don't have an issue with these dodos speaking out as I think your average American doesn't hold them in very high regard so attacking the cult of celebrity is just more red meat. Also it's not just I don't care to hear from Streep, what she said was both stupid and unbelievably elitist. Piers Morgan seems to get it.
Looking at her movies, she is most definitely overrated compared to the recognition she has gotten. She really has not been in many good movies, a lot of boring crap. I liked 'The Deer Hunter', she just as well could of not been in that tho.
Getting over it would be not dwelling on it and certainly not whining about it on twitter, he is not giving the appearance of having gotten over it. Also everything is conspiracies and cults with you, 'the cult of the celebrity' what even is that?
Also I think trump is pretty overrated himself...
And he is going to be president, trashing people shouldn't even be on his priority list.

I agree that Trump is not a threat to most concerns of the LGBT community. And I agree that the Democrats, and Liberals, often are not much better than some of the Conservatives. I wanted Bernie, not Clinton. But what I am hearing the GOP suggest is scary, far scarier than anything the Dems ever say. I also know that they first want to replace the ACA before they dissolve it. And that is my concern. The proposals so far are not going to make anything better. It's not "fake news", it's just the usual bad ideas coming from the GOP. And I need the ACA fixed. I wasn't eligible for healthcare with the ACA and the proposals so far will only put insurance more out of my reach. They may also keep me from getting married and that is devastating to me.

Trump won for a reason, you might not like it but it's true all the same. I'll let you know when I tire of winning.

Can you elaborate on some of these things, how are you not eligible for healthcare under the current law and how it might prevent you from marrying? I don't have any sentimental attachment to Obamacare, it's something that can be bettered upon and instead of expending all their capital on preventing repeal they should be pushing for their own reforms. How come Bernie Sanders isn't using this as a chance to push his vision for healthcare? I see it as time to renegotiate, futile obstructionism and grandstanding really does no good with the writing being on the wall.

My state did not expand Medicaid and I didn't earn enough to qualify for subsidies or tax breaks. If I was to get get married I might be able to get insurance with the current ACA. Not good insurance but enough to keep from possibly bankrupting my partner if I was to get sick. I want to marry him but I don't want to risk him losing everything because of me.
As for Bernie, he is trying. There isn't much he can do though with the GOP/Trump in control, but he has introduced legislation trying to force Trump to keep his campaign promises to not cut SS, Medicaid, and Medicare. I don't have reason to trust Trump and didn't vote for him. I want to be wrong about Trump. I'd love to be wrong. His history doesn't give me any hope, nor do his silly tweets.

I think the most poignant part of her speech was when she spoke about HERSELF----about, when she was whining, on a film set----and, lo and behold, there she was, AGAIN, Sunday night, WHINING!!
Of COURSE she has the right to speak her mind----but then, so do the people who don't agree with what she said!!
As for PE Trump supposedly mocking a reporter, I don't feel he WAS. The reporter has a disorder that makes his limbs contract----PE Trump was FLAILING his arms; to ME, that's the OPPOSITE of "contract"! !

All Streep did was to stand up and applaud for the film The Pianist. So did others in the audience, looks like they all clapped.I certainly don't support child molestors, but I would applaud that film.I thought it was great.I saw The Fearless Vampire Killers when I was a kid and thought it was a hoot.Hillarious.
Later in life,The Fat and the Lean. You can watch it and pretend the chubby bossy man is Trump.
