All my school-age friends are currently in class. I wonder if the teachers will show it. At the public school, it's doubtful, but I'm sure somebody will be playing it at the Catholic school since there are openly Republican teachers. I think regardless of political views every teacher should play the Inauguration. It's a historic learning experience and an opportunity for important discussion. I learned a lot about how our government works when I watched Obama's Inauguration in History class. If this Inauguration makes people uncomfortable, all the more reason to talk about it. Problems don't go away just because you cover your ears.

Nice image! Twenty years ago, I was standing just forward and slightly to the left of the crowd in the image. Between the crowd in the image and the Capitol West Lawn, a one-lane road separates the free-access guests and the ticketed guests. So, my ticket was only just barely closer to the event than the free-access viewers. But, I envy them anyway ... considering the temperature is currently a nice 42 degrees. I stood (froze) in 10-degree temps.

At least it wasn't so cold it had to be moved indoors, like Reagan's Inauguration!

Did anyone see Melania give Michelle Obama a present and Michelle look awkward about it?

Am I the only one who thinks it's funny the Melania Trump obviously really likes Michelle Obama but the feeling is not mutual?

I have had people not like me before but for whatever reason I just found them delightful and kept being nice to them anyway.

I think it's about time for the Obama's to ride with the Trump's. I wish I could be a fly in that car!

Howdy Miss S! No I didn't see it.
They were saying that they believe that Melania is going to take a backseat and Ivanka will be more in the limelight, just an FYI.

Why is the House in session? I'm not interested in that crap. Probably all the Demos that said they weren't going to the Inauguration.

Had to switch channels to someone else.

That's fine with me. I love Ivanka. I'd vote for her in a heartbeat.

I do like hearing Melania speak, though. She always has something interesting and tough to say.

I saw that. Michelle was not very graceful about it and Melania looks so nervous. She looks awesome, though! I look forward to watching Melania's fashions.

After 8 years of Trump, I'm looking for Trump Jr. to run! (Just like the Bush's) I think he'd be fantastic!

The U.S. House of Representatives convened the 115th Congress on January 3. That its members might be conducting some business in the minutes up to the inauguration (though the House web site ( http://www.house.gov/ ) says it is "not in session") wouldn't be too surprising.

Just seeing all of those politicians - it just feels great to see someone as President from the outside for the first time in history! Amazing. They're not untouchable.

I just want to mention that these recent 'approval rating' pollings are from the same people manipulated the polls during the election, trying to undermine and weaken the incoming president. You can make polls say what you want, Rasmussen has Trump approval at 56%. It's meaningless but it is interesting to note this weaponization of polls by the media.

looking forward to a long and productive day :)
