The drive in where you sit in your car and eat. They used to wear roller skates when they brought it to the car.Once in awhile a carhop still does.
It was nice for families with small kids since you could eat out and not worry about a screaming kid annoying other diners.

My kids are spending lots of time on Roblox, meeting their friends there.
They cope quite well, they don't miss school but they hope we will be able to go for some vacation in the summer.

Rectal? 8O

Soon just going to the store to look for toilet paper will be like going through a TSA shakedown.

Yes.
Anal stimulation is one of the perks.
It is an initiative to draw/encourage people into the shops, to raise their profit margins.

.

Apparently some seem to think I have been saying we should not try to prevent millions of avoidable deaths.

That is not my view. I have said point blank more than once that I am not against current measures being taken and that I and my family are complying. My view is to what extent should such measures should be taken. It's a legitimate question regarding something that has multiple variables at play. Actions being taken based on predictions and so on that can eventually be taken too far. So the question is how much is too much and what the repercussions could be. There are already repercussions involved and they merit discussion. Not as a protest against saving lives, but rather simply in acknowledgement of their existence.

So many celebrity hand washing videos where the tap is left running for 20/30 seconds.

If one really wants to do it right one should do it surgeon style with a scrub brush. Maybe not all the way up to the elbows. But a good vigorous scrubbing with a brush designed to be used on the skin. I think it is important to make sure your finger nails get very clean in the process.

^Agreed

Whatever method people employ, opening the tap with dirty hands, then turning them off at the end off the process makes no sense. Besides, water is a precious resource, running the tap isn't strictly necessary.

SYDNEY-- Police wearing protective gear boarded a cruise ship to seize evidence and question crew members of the vessel linked to hundreds of coronavirus infections and 15 deaths across Australia.

About 2,700 passengers disembarked from the ship on March 19 in Sydney and it has since become the largest source of coronavirus infections in Australia. More than 600 cases of COVID-19 and 15 deaths are linked the to the ship, the Ruby Princess.

New South Wales police, which boarded the ship Wednesday night at Port Kembla south of Sydney, said it’s expected to remain in port for 10 days with its 1,040 crew undergoing medical assessments. About 200 crew have shown symptoms of COVID-19, while 18 have tested positive for the virus that causes it. The workers remaining on the ship are from 50 countries.

New South Wales police Commissioner Mick Fuller said Thursday that officers seized a black box “very similar to that of international planes” and other evidence. He said the captain had been extremely helpful.

“I can confirm there’s still over 1,000 crew members on the ship,” he said, adding that three-quarters of them want to remain on the ship. “They feel safe on the ship and I think that’s a good outcome.”

On Thursday, Australia recorded its lowest increase in coronavirus cases in more than three weeks.

Health Minister Greg Hunt said there were 96 new cases, the first time there have been fewer than 100 a day since March 17. The peak was on March 28, when 457 cases were recorded. There have been a total of just over 6,000 and 51 deaths in Australia from the virus.

So it really seems in a pandemic that controlling the entry of infected individuals from cruise ships and aircraft are essential to limiting the spread of a pandemic.

A few months ago I went on a cruise with my wife to Hawaii. After 45 years of marriage, it was time to go on a second honeymoon. I met several Australians on the cruise. They were nice people. I noted one interesting fact. Where as most Americans will go on a cruise for a week or two, many Australians will go one a cruise for a month or two. Sometimes they take one cruise ship and link up to another and then another and take a really long vacation.

I have a feeling that being on a cruse ship is not going to be very popular for a long time to come after the crisis.

I was glad to read last night that doctors are rethinking their prior belief that putting people with the virus on ventilators has been the best course of action.

Some Doctors Moving Away From Ventilators For Virus Patients

It says putting someone on a ventilator for acute respiratory infection in general typically means 40%-50% chance of dying. A ventilator is the "Hail Mary pass". That last resort when all other options have been exhausted. The ventilator itself can cause irreparable damage to the aveoli with higher pressure air bursting the aveoli air sacs; in effect having the ventilator cause the person's death. My Mom was put on a ventilator two years ago and I'm convinced that was a major factor in her death.

I'm very glad to see that doctors are trying less invasive and potentially deadly means to help people combat the virus and I'm glad to see that these other means are working.

The US should quickly follow.

Austria plans to begin loosening its coronavirus lockdown

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said Monday that his country plans to take steps to begin lifting its coronavirus lockdown next week, Reuters reports.

The state of play: Kurz said the country would begin reopening non-essential shops of less than 400 square meters on April 14, followed by all shops and malls on May 1.
