But now we, the public, must pay thousands of $ to find them, take them into custody, feed them while awaiting trial, pay MORE $ for many, many trials, then feed them and supply medical care during the years that they are sentenced for.

Can any of these MAGA/Qvid/Spoilt Yuppie/Proud Boys/Rioters who have money be made to pay for any of the costs incurred by their premeditated/planned/illegal mass crime and resulting extreme expenses?
Seems fair to me.
I do not own a car.
I ride the bus.
Work full time, pay my own bills.
Yet my tax dollars are being used to prepare a special diet, NOT medically necessary, just preferred, for Buffalo Hat Man.
Why shouldn’t all of them pay for their food?
When Arpejo was Sheriff, local prisoners got bologna sandwiches and water.

Unfortunately if American law is anything like Australian law then vandalism doesn't require the culprit to pay for the damage they caused.

However under US anti-terror law all of them should be locked up in Guantanamo bay and they should throw away the key....but then we know why they won't do that.
