it is not physical violence I wish for that smug entitled little Kavanaugh- it is, however, something basically worse to anybody with two brain cells to rub together- a thorough dressing-down in public, which I suspect the veteran was not prepared to do, but somebody like my drill instructors were thoroughly prepared to do, you couldn't put any BS past those people without being sorry.

There are probably more of these type of arguments seeping in, I really don't want to wade through all the comments, but the rules are clear. no personal attacks.

How is an accurate adjective a personal attack? :?

Or is this a matter of having to use the phrasing “suspected paranoia,” for I am not qualified to officially diagnose it?

No Goldfish, it is a matter of leaving personalities out of it altogether. If we all used accurate adjectives about each other, the fighting would descend very quickly. The inaccuracy or accuracy is not the issue. Do not make personal comments about each other.

That applies to all of you.

Note to Sly: it's not "liberals" who are trying to reduce the use of straws, plastic etc. This is a non political effort to reduce our waste and become more environmentally aware. Why is protecting our earth, and our species and that of all other species on the planet, ensuring our survival, defined as "liberal"?

OK, back on topic please.....

It’s liberal democrats passing the laws not republican conservatives though.
And they did so without consideration for disabled people who need straws to drink.
When it’s a policy done by one party and the other party is opposed it’s a political issue.
Green peace is a political organization.
The ones passing it call themselves liberals.
So take it up with them.
Republican/conservatives try to pass anti abortion laws, they define themselves as such. Same people are anti weed.
Both issues are political polices if each party.

I don’t use straws except at fast food which would be hard to do without straws.
They could have tried biodegradable straws or paper straws etc. there’s other ways then bans. Bans won’t save the world or solve issues.

Paper straws or metal reusable ones are an option.

Greenpeace is an environmental organization, not a political organization. It was started in Vancouver in the 1970's and has no affiliation to any political party here. Environmental conservation/repair is for everyone and everything, not members of one political party or another. Like every government around the world having to deal with climate change, it's a non partisan organization & set of issues.

We also have the Green Party. They are a political party w/ an environmental platform. Maybe you're confusing the two?

Surely not ALL straws are banned, just single use plastic ones.

Also, I'm trying to figure out how it's difficult to eat/drink fast food without a straw ?? Just lift your cup up to your mouth and drink like you would with any other beverage, no? :?

“Theissing-Matei: We are a political organization. Of course we try to act in the best interest of the environment, but momentarily the political debate is whether or not new methods for genetic modification should be placed under current legislation of genetic modification.”

Green peace is a political organization as is the nra, moms demand action, moms agains drunk drivers etc.
If a organization pushes for laws they are political organization how they are funded doesn’t matter

“A political organization is any organization that involves itself in the political process, including political parties, non-governmental organizations, advocacy groups and special interest groups. Political organizations are those engaged in political activities (e.g., lobbying, community organizing, campaign advertising, etc.) aimed at achieving clearly-defined political goals, which typically benefit the interests of their members.

While parties are one type of political organization that may engage in some or all of those activities, they are distinct in that they typically focus on supporting candidates for public office, winning elections and controlling government.”

The things you say about people you disagree with are disrespectful and demeaning. Even if you don't see it that way, they and others do.

That's a very good point , I may of let my emotions get in the way when warning Goldfish. Education is far better. My problem is I see us all here as the same , so when I see someone being disrespectful I think it is deliberate and I rarely think it's due to not knowing any better.

You can buy reusable portable cups/bottles with straws too, and just take those with you when you're going somewhere you might get a beverage that would require a straw to drink. Like SaveFerris I have a reusable coffee/tea travel mug that I use when I get coffee or tea when I'm out, so the coffee place doesn't have to use disposable cups. I also have reusable shopping bags that I take with me when grocery shopping so the grocery store doesn't have to give me any wasteful plastic bags to carry my food home in.

There are lots of reusable product options that we could all choose depending on our lifestyles that will reduce waste like "disposable" plastic cups and straws. Just put 5 seconds of thought into it before you leave the house of what you might need to bring with you, and you're doing your part to save the earth. Each of us has a personal responsibility to reduce the waste we produce because we are all contributing to the problem when we use disposable products and throw them away. Because, you see, there is no "away"--the disposable crap you use ends up somewhere, in a landfill or floating in the ocean somewhere.

So just stop complaining about "liberals" trying to take away your freedom and get a reusable straw. You owe it to the earth and to future humans to do your part just as much as anyone else does. That is part of individual freedom: personal responsibility.

I wonder why the emphasis is on just straws and not lids and plastic utensils. I suppose I'll be expected to always have an arsenal of my own straws, lids and utensils on me at all times in the future.

But like I said as far as the future goes, my guess is a lot of food and beverage places will eventually be taxed so severely they'll be forced to shut down. Emphasis on the word forced.

I think eventually liberalism will get the dystopia it's striving for.

No idea dude. It pissed me off when I went to Maccy D's drive through and asked for a coffee and said I brought my own cup , they said fine , no problem , I paid , went to the next window and they put my coffee in their normal cup , when I questioned it they said just pour it into your own cup - WTF  While I'm ranting , I went to a pub for lunch the other day and asked for Pepsi , they said they only had diet ( I hate unleaded drinks  ) , when I asked why they didn't have regular they said that due to the sugar tax regular soft drink costs the same as an alcoholic one

Most of what I posted was either captured on video (e.g. video of the boys sexually harassing a group of girls) corroborated by other witnesses

BTW the claims by the MAGA boy and his mother also fall into the realm of allegations based on their opinion but it seems their claims hold more weight

Nah, it means you have avoided the mental illness known as liberalism.
