Yes the calvinist influence is most intriguing to me as an Australian. Most Americans don't know their puritan forebears burned innocent women at the stake in Salem and developed strange cults that forbade sex (which obviously died out :lol: )

Well that must have provided the impetus for modus operandi for the popular American passtime of lynchings where families made a picnic out of seeing young black men get eviscerated, castrated and hung taking photos and souvenirs. Shucks US tourism sure has changed.

Oh but wait, didn't the capitol rioters carry lynch equipment and audibly call out their intention to lynch Pelosi and Pence? I guess some traditions are actually making a comeback.
