My oldest friend, who was also my best man, is gay. And because his dad is a very conservative Catholic, he thought he could never come out. When he was outed during a legal matter, to his surprise, his dad hugged him.
Morale of the story; your old man might not be quite the bastard you thought he was. Then again, I don't know him.

I am glad it ended so well for him
However for me...my dad HATES homosexuality with a purple passon.
He has told me on numerous occassions how he thought that God hated gays too and how they are all going to hell.
If he knew I was bisexual...he would disown me...if not he would try to exorsize the demons of sodom and gomorah out of me.

Well, you can possibly remind him that the real sin of Sodom and Gomorrah wasn't explicitly homosexual behavior, but rather because...
THEY RAPED AND MURDERED PEOPLE!

I know, but he is soooo brainwashed by his religion's verson of things that he cant think for himself...of course I have to give him credit...at least he is not physically abusive anymore...which why my mom left him when I was 5. He kinda needs a very strict religion to keep him in check. He has tried fpr a lomg time to get me to believe what he does...I tried it for a while and was a neurotic mess, what is a cure for one person is a posion for another. But that still doesnt change that he is sooo extreemly bigotted against homosexuality. I find that people who are in strict religions need a scapegoat because they feel so inadiquate so they have to say focus on the "sins" of others to take the focus off themselves. His scapegoats are homosexulas and athiests...he pretty much thinks they are the spawns of satan.

Hope, I thought Obama had a whole can of that to unleash, but then again, a strong economy is at odds with that Hope.

News of the World, never heard of it, but I don't really go for the tabloids. Fall of Murdoch, doubt it, will slow 'em down and tarnish his family whether they have anything to do with or not. Lots of investigations of bad hacking behavior.

Maybe these folks watched Smallville too much and fell for the Hollywood romanticism of Chloe being a top-notch daily Planet employee capable of hacking into phones, govt. networks and everything else????

My wife is a Smallville fanatic, which means I watched every damn episode, too.
