Then why quote it??

Take a nap, Angela. It'll do you good.

Again, another man commenting who doesn't understand the full story. It's about heterosexual men abusing the policy. I'd like to follow you into the men's restroom, watch you pee, take some pictures when you weren't looking to slap on youtube, make a few snide jokes about certain "things" and tell you to your face that its legal for me to be there because "I'm just feeling like a man today and it's in the new restroom policy". I'm sure you wouldn't go for that for two seconds.

In some places, voyeurism and/or "unlawful survelliance" (including posting pictures and videos obtained through unlawful surveillance) is a criminal offense.

In places where there is no law against voyeurism, the way to address the problem is to push for such a law -- not to discriminate against transgendered people.

Stores/institutions can also make reasonable policies to make it harder for people to get away with doing creepy stuff -- it would be fair to say you aren't allowed to loiter in the bathroom (and to have security cameras outside the entrance to the bathrooms so that you could have records to back you up if you kicked someone out because of complaints they'd been in there forever just standing around watching people), nor to have your cell phone out/use it in the bathroom (the latter is a policy I have seen posted in locker rooms for more than a decade).

I also had another similar situation happen when I was about 8 yrs old that I will never forget. It was when I went to this Catholic school and was in the bathroom stall, these two girls just came right on up and stood outside my stall and watched my every move laughing about it the whole time. I don't know what the attraction is with people watching other people going to the bathroom, but it's f*****g perverted. So you'll have to excuse me if I'm a bit passionate about this damn subject. I'm sick of perverted men taking advantage of women and this is all because "transexuals" want to have it their way.

First, I'm kind of surprised at your stance, given that you have personal experience to tell you that even having gender-segregated bathrooms won't protect you from perverts because cis-gendered women can be perverts, too, and they always have easy access to the women's bathroom.

Second, it is extraordinarily unfair to blame transpeople for the behavior of sexual predators. That transwomen simply want the same rights accorded to cisgendered women is not selfish, and your insistence on having things "your way" regardless of how it affects them strikes me as very hypocritical.

Because they're slower to accept change? Why does that seem hypocritical on an autism board...?

I should have just went on to bed. My question to you would be - why does Target need this new bathroom rule? Transsexuals have been around for a long time and going into the women's restrooms so why this new rule now?

Another thing - why are heterosexual men that are dressed as men who are clearly not transsexuals allowed in the women's restroom?

Ok. This rule is to allow men to dress like women (transsexuals) to enter womens restrooms and dressing rooms. Right? Men dressed as women.

Why are they allowing men dressed as men (heterosexuals) access to womens rest rooms and dressing rooms?

Nurseangela, please stop. Your hatred of trans people is evident. You've attacked trans people before like this, posting links to anti-trans sites and videos. And since Wrong Planet rules only prohibit homophobic posts but not transphobic ones, I guess you feel you can just keep posting these. But you are hurting people. Real, live people on Wrong Planet.

I have yet to see Angela post anything about hating trans people, she's just not comfortable with how quickly this has become the new "normal" and some of the implications of that. Why do you think it's okay to ostracize her and people like her because they're slower to adapt that you'd like?

Oh, the horror!

Soon, there might even be black people in your bathroom! http://www.snopes.com/military/pentagonbathrooms.asp

I'm just waiting for someone to list crime statistics and argue we need to go back to segregated bathrooms.

I don't feel guilty one bit about how I believe because I know I'm not racist and I know that I'm not the only one who is against this Target bathroom rule.

http://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/ ... -boycott-/

I have rights just like the rest of you. The right to be able to go into a restroom or a dressing room and not worry that some man (heterosexual because that is what Target is allowing - which all of you seem to be disregarding) is looking in on me and possibly taking pictures like the ones that have been reported on the news. Real transsexuals don't need this rule because if they are dressing as women and going in the women's restrooms no one is going to know UNLESS they are like the ones in the news who are caught taking pictures. This rule that is being forced down everyone's throat is not necessary for REAL transsexuals. I'm tired of the Left bullying people into giving up their rights that are theirs under the Constitution by calling them racist and bigots. So what? I'm at the point where I don't care if I'm called a racist - goes in one ear and out the other. Like a broken record is what it sounds like. I didn't even have any problems with transsexuals until this bathroom issue because Target is pushing the envelope by allowing ALL men (not just transsexuals) into womens restrooms and dressing rooms. If you think I'm not going to fight back about that then you're mistaken. It's the Left that has turned this into a transsexual issue. If you want to keep calling me a racist and a bigot, go right ahead, but I'm not going to quit fighting for my rights just like the other side is fighting for theirs.

Their restroom policy is brain gender, not body gender.

These "heterosexual men" should have a female-brain gender (e.g., cross dress in female clothes, or gender-queer female).

As a tall women with a deep voice, short hair, and who dresses in "men's clothes," I certain hope I don't get busted by the "potty police" and forced to show my genitals to "prove" I'm female.

I'm pleased-as-punch with Target's new policy because I'll be able to got there, pee, and NOT be harassed by witless women.

Go Target!! !
