I think it's hard for many to take much seriously from a party that were calling him the worst president in history and demanding he be impeached before he even took office.
Is that first statement supposed to make the later statement where he blames the anti-racist demonstrators for the violence null-and-void? It's not just the left that's disgusted by Trump on this matter, but plenty of Republican representatives as well.
