I'm curious to know what parts people think were taken out of context in either video posted? The part where Trump thinks it was going to go away on it's own? The part where Trump repeatedly says it was all under control?
Well, I could only make an informed comment if I saw the entire video clip, rather than snippets out of context.
I may agree with you in the end, but until I see it for myself, it is only speculation that it isn't misleading.
Surely you can see my reasoning?
With politics, you can't take anything for granted, from either side of the political divide.
Having said that, it doesn't make him look good.
But then again, when has the left *ever* wanted to make Trump look good?
You do realise that clips like that one are specifically made to mock the opposition.
It is not in the maker's interest to be fairminded.
I found it entertaining, but you can't attach concepts such as "ethical", "fairminded" and "integrity" to the production.
I did enjoy watching the video even though I knew it was hateful/vindictive because I don't take such things seriously.
It is entertainment for me.
I've got thick skin these days. <shrug>
I am not one of the herd, and never will be,
Or should that be: never "wildebeest " be I?
Digging a little deeper, I see his general performance in the context of how he thinks he should act politically.
"They say Truth is the first casualty in war".
In certain situations, manipulation, rather than truthfulness is more important.
Ask Joseph Goebbels.
My best guess is that Trump is clumsily trying to inspire confidence into the American people.
In my opinion, he isn't doing a particularly good job, but he is trying.
Very trying.
To see the deception in the political arena, all one has to do is peruse the Wikileaks, errr, leaks.
It showed the inherent two-faced deception of politicians, and as a result, these "honourable" men and women of the political aristocracy are going for Assange's blood, because of the humiliation they feel through being exposed, as an example.
My point is: Manipulation is part and parcel of being a politician.
I.E. Trump is being a politician by wanting to put a positive spin on events.
He may not be doing a particularly great job, but I believe I can see the underlying political machinations involved.
And the reason, assuming I am right, I can see what is unfolding, is that I am non-partisan and don't have the blinkers on that many others do.
I believe I have less cognitive bias than most.
I also believe confirmation bias is something that doesn't have a particularly significant hold on me either, in this particular context.
I am not saying partisanship is necessarily a bad thing.
I am saying if one wishes to see the entire picture more clearly, be more interested in the Truth, rather than playing "us against them" via groupthink, partisanship is not your friend.
It is your fiend.
I thank you. <bow>
