He didn't threaten to kill anyone, he poorly edited an anime video for lulz (which you are providing).

Gosar supported the January 6 riot of right wing lunatics who committed acts of vandalism and attacked police officers, and has given his support to the racist paramilitary group, the Oath Keepers. His past actions show this was more than just for laughs.

Old school republican Andrew Carnegie once said "judge a man by his actions, and the truth will make itself known to you." The MAGAs and QAnons have already proven their quality (or lack of it).

Correct, as you usually are, my friend.

Have you actually looked at the cartoon in question? It's pretty ridiculous, this feels a lot like the whole imbroglio over the Trump wrestling CNN video, selective outrage for political clout.

AOC certainly didn't think it was much to do about nothing. Yes, it was in itself ridiculous, but it was meant to be demeaning. And what is being overlooked is the bigotry being expressed in the video toward immigrants of color, with Gosar dehumanizing them as criminals. That in particular was meant as a signal of approval to his racist supporters, such as the Oath Keepers at whose rally he had spoken at.

AOC is a drama queen. And since illegal immigration is crime, that would make them criminals.

How does that justify making light of threatening to kill them?

Looks like you're good at drama too :D

So it would be okay to make fun of them if they were white? Sounds kinda racist.

Just where the hell did you pull that one out of?

Read your own comment, you wouldn't have said he was being bigoted if the immigrants depicted were white, i.e. you're treating them differently based on their race. There is a word for that.

The only reason the right hates AOC is because she is an educated, Millennial woman of color.

No other reason.

That is very one dimensional and totally unrealistic. 8O

She is a young woman who needs a hell of a lot more experience of life.
Her "Morality is more important than the facts" statement was, erm, cringeworthy.

But she is young.
I will give her time. 8)

Again, from which orifice did that comment come from? It's obvious Gosar was directing his racism at non white immigrants. You have to take Gosar's personal prejudices into account, which he has made publicly known. So, no, you don't have a leg to stand on attacking me for pointing out the Senator's bigotry. And why would Gosar, who associates with white nationalists, attack white people with such a video?
Incidentally, if Louis Farrakhan made such a video about whites, I'd call him out for his racism, too, as his anti-white bigotry is well known.

Illegal immigration actually is more of a civil violation than a crime. It’s officially a misdemeanor, like a traffic ticket, and the remedy is civil deportation, not criminal punishment. To view them as criminals is dehumanizing and inaccurate.

AOC has a lot of fans among the younger generation; they connect with her.

In all states and under the federal criminal code, a misdemeanor is a crime punishable by incarceration and, sometimes, a fine. A misdemeanor is less serious than a felony but more so than an infraction. States define felonies, misdemeanors, and infractions by their potential penalties.
