King or not, Charles is still a control freak prick and a pale shadow of his mother who a least had a touch of class, kept her nose out of politics and kept the (now disintegrating) monachy in line.

Prince Charles's 'black spider memos' show lobbying at highest political level

Publication of 27 letters after 10-year legal battle shows heir to the throne petitioning ministers on subjects from the Iraq war to alternative therapies

A cache of secret memos between Prince Charles and senior government ministers has been released after a 10-year legal battle, offering the clearest picture yet of the breadth and depth of the heir to the throne’s lobbying at the highest level of politics.

The 27 memos, sent in 2004 and 2005 and released only after the Guardian won its long freedom of information fight with the government, show the Prince of Wales making direct and persistent policy demands to the then prime minister Tony Blair and several key figures in his Labour government.

The government has spent more than £400,000 on legal costs in its ultimately failed attempt to block the original 2005 freedom of information request by the Guardian journalist Rob Evans. The case was eventually decided at the supreme court and the decade-long saga involved in total 16 different judges.

David Cameron’s last government attempted to veto the release. In 2012 the then attorney general, Dominic Grieve, warned they “would be seriously damaging to his role as future monarch because, if he forfeits his position of political neutrality as heir to the throne, he cannot easily recover it when he is king”.

Well unfortunately if I post in a thread I will almost instinctively steer the topic on to me (narcissism much  ) as I identify as a ferret on WP

Is a ferret a name for a gender or sexuality? I can't keep up with you young people and your hip and trendy slang

A ferret is just an animal that doesn't change my gender or sexuality. Maybe 'identify' is the wrong word, I pretend to be a ferret on WP is probably more accurate.

The coronation was A LOT of singing.

When I turned the TV on it sounded like they were singing a song that would have fitted in with a Harry Potter film , it was quite weird ( I should of Shazamed it to find out what they were singing)

It was exactly like that. Constant madrigals and a cappella and hymns. Then when they went out of the Abbey, it changed to brass bands marching along.

Very noisy, the King looked overwhelmed.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that.

Anyone had any coins with Charles on the obverse given in shop change yet? I've seen a 50p but it wasn't mine.

It was just like they'd got representatives of every possible type of music and used them all. And everything that could have been spoken was all sung.

I was surprised the Bishop didn't start singing when he read out the bits which actually acknowledged that Charles was now King. Or start dancing with all the other robed clergy

Oh please don't worry. I joke at the most inappropriate times, I'm often told off for it :D

How do you get your age to show on your profile anyway?

Schedule for remaining events
Today:
Nationwide Coronation “big lunches” have occurred

7 p.m. local The Coronation Concert will occur at Windsor Castle. Performers include Take That, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Andrea Bocelli, and along with King Charles and Queen Camilla, many members of the royal family will be in attendance.

Per the Palace, "Attended by a public audience including volunteers from The King and The Queen’s many charity affiliations, the concert will see a world-class orchestra play interpretations of musical favourites fronted by some of the world’s biggest entertainers, alongside performers from the world of dance. The performances will be supported by staging and effects located on the Castle’s East Lawn and will also feature a selection of spoken word sequences delivered by stars of stage and screen."

Tomorrow All Day
This Monday is a bank holiday in the UK, and the royals are calling it a "Big Help Out" day, emphasizing public service, volunteering, and giving back.

According to the Palace, "The Big Help Out will highlight the positive impact volunteering has on communities across the nation. In tribute to His Majesty The King's public service, The Big Help Out will encourage people to try volunteering for themselves and join the work being undertaken to support their local areas. The aim of The Big Help Out is to use volunteering to bring communities together and create a lasting volunteering legacy from the Coronation Weekend."

Don't ever change that kind of humour, I appreciate it when it doesn't fly over my head

Click on My Account>Edit Profile> Enter your DOB in the date of birth field in the format mm/dd/yyyy

If you have already done this, it may be a site glitch ?

That's nice to hear about the sense of humour, many people just don't get it.

Oh right, I probably didn't want to put my DOB online but I suppose 'they' know it anyway as all our information is online anyway

Edit: I did put my DOB in the box but I'll try it again?

Don't do it if you don't want the information known.

Sounds like a site glitch if you already entered it.

Not just autistics but older people tend be bothered by noise more. They grew up in a quieter era.

I do not know about him but when people I loved died the hardest part was not the funeral etc, but when I go back to normal(first day back at work/school etc) without that person. The Coronation might have that “moving on” event when it hit him his mum is really gone for good.

Well, music is supposed to be universally understood, so even if there were aliens in attendance...they would have got rhythm

I'm a squirrel by the way - cuter than a ferret and we use nuts very effectively.
