There was a real fear that Russia could become a threat again - which it has - thus justifying the continued existence of NATO.

That's doubtlessly why the Saudis refuse to extradite the alleged 21 guilty persons to the US, lest we find out wht we already know to be true.

Don't laugh. Just because he's 65 and has already been in power for 20 years, doesn't mean he isn't suddenly going to... umm... well you know.

And so you believe that the prince had nothing to do with the murder/dismemberment?

Mr Powell is right here in that Mr Obama was just as much a supporter of Saudi Arabia as Trump is and received none of the criticism for it. Of course, as I have stated elsewhere, there's no real difference between a two men.

Except that I don't recall Obama ever blatantly lying for the sake of the Saudi elite, especially when it involved a political murder.

He hasn't lied; he basically admits that MBS is responsible, only he pleads the usual elite excuse of economic expediency: "we have to cooperate with the Saudis for their arms cash". Neville Chamberlain would be proud.

I don't know, the CIA saying he is guilty isn't evidence. I hate that country and him but I don't think it makes sense that he'd be that stupid.

The US worked together with the Saudis under Obama to carpet bomb Yemen and kill over 100 children a day. That's far more sickening than a Jihadi journalist being killed.

Spy masters have come up with some ridiculous schemes in their time.
I think the Prince has much in common with Trump and Kushner: none of them are nearly as smart as they imagine themselves to be. Besides, Kushner had already guaranteed he' be allowed to get away with something like this.

Who says I'm defending that? But just when did Obama ever try to blame someone else for the bombing?
