I'm not saying that one should be in quaking fear of Putin, or of Russia.

But one should have a healthy skepticism.

Trust me: even France has a healthy skepticism of the United States. And they have been a "staunch ally" since at least World War I.

Since the Revolutionary War.

You have only met a few people period compared to how many people there are. I was not thinking about just here in the US but all countries and cultures around the world. Marrying outside of one's religion is another.

When my uncle was planning on marrying a Dominican woman, he was worried that my grandfather would have a problem with her being a Catholic. In my family the color of her skin was completely moot, but he was concerned about the religious aspect. But he was just being paranoid because my grandfather had absolutely zero problem with that.

It doesn’t mean racism is okay in my book—just because many people practice it. Especially when it comes to harming people of different races.

A person has a right to marry within the person’s own race.

A person has a right to marry a person of a different race.

If they were a peaceful non-violent group then why would they threaten to close down Heathrow airport using drones to do so? If a drone flew into an aircraft it can cause a crash. How many lives would be lost if they "accidentally" destroy a 747? A Boeing 747 can carry between 416 and 660 passengers depending on the specific model. That would be an awful lot of innocent lives lost. This is definitely at variance with their stated peaceful goals.

There already nutters releasing drones onto Heathrow airport (closing the airport) but they somehow managed to not be caught.

Interesting that the shooter uses the same "keyword" used by Trump in his speeches attacking Mexicans

the magic word is "invasion"

Lots of people are calling it an invasion. And the shooter made it clear that he was calling it that years before the Trump presidency.

Would be funny if Steve Bannon was the one who advised Trump to use the word...certainly reflects his values

I think maybe he learned it from the folks here in Washington state who are always complaining about being invaded by Californians.

Or perhaps from the folks in Seattle complaining about being invaded by gobs of relocated Amazon employees.

Or perhaps from the folks on Wrong Planet complaining about this site being invaded by NTs.

Or perhaps from people in News and Current Events complaining about being invaded by Trump supporters.

The manifesto from the El Paso Walmart shooter (Patrick Crusius) was titled "An Inconvenient Truth". Interesting that the title exactly matches the title of a movie by Al Gore! Coincidence - I think not!

It could also mean that he knows that his "truth" will be "inconvenient" to others-----as if HE had "all the answers."

Anybody who claims to have "all the answers"---I disregard.

I wish Al Gore didn't claim to have "invented the Internet."

These last two mass shootings seem to be all about intolerance of some kind. And an inability not to act on it... I understand impulsive behaviors, my life has been plagued with things I probably shouldn't have said, or done. But, try as I might, I'll never understand what it would take (short of being in fear for my life) to act on deadly violence.

I think everyone must experience some intolerance to a degree. I do. I'll feel something, then think about it, maybe get a little angry, let it rent a little space in my head, etc... But, usually what I come up with is that I'm just not willing to waste any more energy on it.

But to plan/plot, write a manifesto, drive 70 miles, shoot the place up? Chicken out of getting shot, get arrested, go on trial, probably get the death penalty... I just don't get it. I sure hope there are grants dedicated to studying these brains while they are alive and after they are dead. There is no way that someone with the capacity for that much hate and violence isn't going to show something in the way of cognitive or neurological changes, over time.

I get that hate is an emotion and perhaps some feel it is a soul sickness, I'm not inclined to disagree. I just feel that it must be cultivated to be allowed to grow to the degree it would take to overcome certain self-preserving reactions. And that should show some sort of cognitive changes.

Even though there have been a lot of them, shooters are very rare when compared to the rest of the population. Like one out of a million or more.

They have varying reasons they give or law enforcement piecs together. But to me it is like their motive is more like an excuse to go on a shooting rampage.

I guess they fall into the 'natual born killer' category.

Or perhaps the serial killer category, except that they make their multiple kills all at once rather over a span of months or years.
