Prof goes after Covington kid and 'smiling face of Whiteness'

An Ivy League professor bashed "the smiling face of Whiteness" in response to the recent controversy involving an interaction between a Native American man and a Catholic teenage supporter of President Donald Trump.

“Whiteness endlessly forgives its own transgressions,” University of Pennsylvania associate professor Ebony Elizabeth Thomas wrote on Sunday about the confrontation between Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann and Native American Nathan Phillips. “It rarely, if ever, gives those of us it harms and maims and kills time to process our motions [sic].”

According to Thomas, the “smiling face of Whiteness” is one that “always hides a knife behind its back.” Thomas teaches in UPenn’s Graduate School of Education.

“‘You forgive us, right? You have to forgive us! Understanding will make it better! Reconciliation! Diversity! Inclusion!’” she continued, conveying what she suggests to be the attitude of most white people.

According to Thomas, the “smiling face of Whiteness” is one that “always hides a knife behind its back.”

“That knife says this: ‘You must forgive us. You must educate us. Or else.’”

“Usually, that ‘or else’ happens anyway,” the professor adds. “But it will assuredly happen unless you kiss Whiteness' ring.”

The DC elite, the college elite, the mainstream media elite and the elite activists. It's all one big cesspool. It all just recirculates like an echo chamber.

I haven't read all 7 pages of this discussion, so if I'm being repetitive, just skip over me.

I couldn't really tell what the issue was that made this "news." Yesterday they had the teenager interviewed by Savannah Guthrie on the Today show, and today it was the American Indian's turn. In both interviews, it was like pulling teeth, asking them awkward questions and the interviewee not knowing what to say.

They were both just ordinary so-and-so's who got caught up in something the media tried to turn into "news." Neither one of them had much to say, and Savannah Guthrie seemed acutely aware that this was not going to be earning her any Pulitzer prizes.

Tempest in a teapot ... much ado about nothing.

Finally some positive developments. May there be many more.

Prosecutor: Hundreds of threats made against Covington Catholic after DC march firestorm

PARK HILLS, Ky. — As classes resumed Wednesday at Covington Catholic High School for the first time since a nationwide firestorm of controversy erupted, the investigation into alleged death threats against students and the school started in earnest.

Detectives from Erlanger began the work of securing subpoenas and warrants for online records Wednesday afternoon.

They started by pulling some of the many alleged threats from the internet.

There is no precise count yet, but Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney Rob Sanders estimated this week there could be hundreds of such threats.

He is adamant about the seriousness of the situation, stressing that anyone who has made a threat is subject to prosecution if they are identified and found.

Wednesday's return to school grounds by the students was far from a return to normalcy.

Police officers were positioned in the parking lot, at the front doors and inside the high school.
