Presidential Harassment
The point of pointing out people bringing up Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ted Cruse, is that the natural-born resident issue hasn't been limited to non-white countries.
Obama didn't present his birth certificate immediately because the people demanding to see it were pushing a ridiculous, racially based conspiracy theory, devoid of any legitimate reason. Such a demand on any President would in itself be demeaning, especially since the whole reason behind it was because Obama was black.
But if you're so eager to defend the birthers, are you willing to say that what's good for the goose is good for the gander, and insist that Trump release his tax returns? Because there's definite legal ramifications here.
I'm not defending anyone. I am stating the fact that the natural-born citizen clause has been an issue regarding other politicians. And I don't care whether or not Trump releases his tax returns.
The clause wasn't used to anywhere the same degree as it was with the Anti-Obama birtherism. The whole point was to delegitimize Obama's Presidency by people who couldn't take having a black man in the White House.
During an election one side will try most anything to keep the other side's candidate from winning. The clause was used as a tool for that, just as other tools have been used in other elections. Didn't they come up with stuff against Bill Clinton and George Bush etc?
Of course, especially to those who want him out of office or at least not reelected.

Why not?

Do you not see the potential for conflicts of interest?
Let me rephrase, I'm not eager or excited or worried etc.

But it wasn't just during Presidential elections that the birther lie was shouted to the roof tops. It was all through Obama's two terms that droves of Republicans made that false charge, and even created fake Kenyan birth certificates, all in hopes of getting Obama removed from office.
Trust me, there is far more involved here than just wishing Trump to be gone. He's desperately hiding something.

Are you being obtuse? A constitutional republic not based on bribery would be nice.
Yes, but I'd like to know what I can do now in the system we currently have.
I assure you, I'm actually asking because politics are far from my area of expertise.
Basically, you could move to Canada. It's not perfect here, but there's far less f**kery than the political game of very expensive smoke & mirrors that plays out in your country non-stop.
I honestly wish I could.
The other day I was watching TV and a commercial for a furniture store came on, only it wasn't just a "furniture" store, it was a "furniture and gun store."
The announcer was going on about how you could come pick up a nice, new couch for your family, and load-up on ammo on your way out.
I thought to myself, "I really wish I lived in a country where this kind of crap isn't even remotely normal."

Is it technically/legally possible for you to immigrate to Canada? Or do you have a diagnosis & limitations that exclude you like auntblabby says he does?
If it is possible, our labour market is red hot and we're giving out work permits to foreigners EVERY DAY for all kinds of industries, not just very high tech/doctors etc. Labourers, cooks, customer service people in fast food places in small towns that have difficulty attracting people away from the bigger cities etc. Some of them are a pretty good deal, too. Fair wage + a place to live provided kind of thing.
I have a relative that works for Canada Customs & Immigration and sees the paperwork for these things almost every day. If someone is eligible to come to Canada, there are ample opportunities to work here. In the bigger cities, too, but all over the place. And for some, a small town w/ very little stress might be much more suitable, anyways.

Ezra and GF,
Please stop with the personal attacks. Constantly speculating on somebody's "deficits" can be considered a personal attack.
Respond to the argument, not the person making it.

I'm not sure.
I'm not familiar enough with Canada's immigration policies, but I'm DXed as autistic, and ADHD, and I take care of my physically disabled mother, so I doubt I'd be a likely candidate.

It was not a personal attack. If it was it would have been brutally obvious since I am honest as the day is long. It was, once again, a legitimate observation of someone's posts here. With a history of defending racism with devil's advocate posts, I legitimately wonder if he's incapable of discerning when something is racially motivated. That's it, that's all. How is that a personal attack?

I'm not sure if your DX would exclude you or not, it'd require some research. Your mother would very likely be excluded, though. Canada is a corporation like any other country, and we don't invite people to come join our team who can't work and pay taxes, basically. The only way she would ever join you here is if you were able to get in first, then via our stupid lottery system, somehow luck out some year and get a permit to bring her here via family reunification And the ability to pay to support her. Something like that.
The more fit for work that's in demand people are, the easier it is to come here. Skilled labour, younger adult age so you can pay taxes for a long time, speak English etc etc. A 25yo plumber would have an easier time coming here than say a 60yo homemaker.

Just please avoid making personal "observations" about Ezra, as that tends to spark conflict, and then we have to close the thread.
Thanks.

Thanks.
Every reply to every post are replies to their personal opinions & personalities. Threads are supposed to die with the OP now?
![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)
We're not allowed to mention who we are talking about? I am 100% certain I've read MANY posts referencing me, and I'm fine with it. Is there some forum rule that says we can't include usernames when we're talking about someone's posts? It has to just be generic like "Forum members with a history of playing devils advocate when it comes to issues of racism & race relations may not be able to discern when something is racially motivated." Is that how I'm supposed to make posts that are very obviously referring to a specific user who has this particular posting history? With ever more new unwritten rules it's beginning to feel like walking on eggshells around here. Can't post anything about others' posts or refer to them by name = wtf?

Seems one side tried using the natural-born citizen clause, the way the other side is using russian collusion and other conspiracy theories. Although I doubt msm supported the former. It's hard to tell if Trump is desperately hiding something or if his detractors are desperate for him to be desperately hiding something.

In his last address, Trump sounded like Nixon in encouraging an end to investigations into his wrong doing... except Nixon did it without any of that idiotic rhyming.

Alas I couldn't find a clip of that.
