Trump ignored pandemic warnings from January

That’s still way too high a mortality rate.
It is. But also my guess is there are a lot more undiagnosed cases than that. Since H1N1 infected as many as 60.8 million people in the US, it seems hard to believe that what is supposed to be a more contagious virus has only infected less than 0.2% of that number, even with shutdowns in place. I think there has got to be a lot more than that.

"Chinese officials count only patients with both symptoms and a positive test in their official tally of confirmed cases. The approach is at odds with the World Health Organization’s guidance that all people who test positive should be considered confirmed cases regardless of whether they show symptoms."

And with people being able to be infected, yet having no symptoms (and so unlikely to have a reason to be tested), how accurate would the numbers be anyway?

Of course,
But that isn't the point Ezras was making.
I agree with much of what he says.

This is way more intense than “regular” flu. Because it’s such a “novel” virus with which we humans have little immunity.
There is a vaccine for the garden variety flu.
If we get one for the coronavirus, it will self-evidently be milder.
So many people are asymptomatic, remember.
Also, consider,
The young are virtually immune to the coronavirus.
I don't believe that is the case with the "normal" flu.

No, I'm just about to start drinking.
Please, answer the question.
No I got the dropped T part. I did not get the wording and especially what it had to do with what I said. Do you mean why do the right go with a republican president, just like the left go with a democrat president/candidate?
No, I mean that this particular Republican President can't do anything good for anyone else but himself and his spawn.
I heard Trump isn't taking a salary for being President.
Is this correct?

For the most part: yes.

Yes, that's true. But it's also true that he hasn't dissolved his business associations (leaving his evil sons in charge of them does not constitute a blind trust, despite what he says), as well as allowing his daughter to conduct business with countries like China through White House connections. So it's hardly the same case as when JFK had donated his paycheck.
But, but, but.
On *top* of what is happening with his family, assuming it is true, he could have *also* taken the presidential
salary, but, but, but, he didn't.
I really don't know, but did Obama and Clinton refuse the salary?

Toughen up, you aspie p*****s.
Evolution has designed us for this precise situation.
This is our moment to shine.
This is what we've been practicing for our entire lives...
Although I must say, having the option (albeit unlikely to be taken up) to go outside whenever you want is a different situation to not being allowed to go outside, even if you would have declined the offer were it made.
As I have 2 people with pre-existing breathing issues, going outside to even just check letterbox or put bins out requires hand-washing and anything delivered gets a dose of disinfectant/cleaning...Not looking forward to having to fetch groceries at some point in the near future.
That is my concern also.
I'll be wearing a beanie, wrap-around glasses, a bandana, long sleeve top, long trousers, and will be dumping it all in the washing when I get back.
And then have a shower, *naked*.
Individually scrubbing each grape is out, btw.
I'll just go without.
And wherever I can, I buy packaged goods, but don't tell the greenies.
And yes, each packet/box from the supermarket and deliveries will have to be disinfected.
I'm getting 2 air filters with UV "scrubbing" tomorrow.
Quite ironic that I will be furiously scrubbing the packaging and content.

I'm not sure that's what the Swiss doctor is saying and Trump was always on shaky ground with his of the cuff boasts.
If you read the article the information is no different from other data put out by the Chinese government, CDC and WHO. The mortality rate is higher than common flu for people with immune deficiencies and respiratory diseases. The numbers are still being debated but the risk is now firmly established.
Older people are the hardest hit because they tend have the weakest immune systems and are more prone to respiratory disease. Younger people with weak immune systems and underlying respiratory problems are next at risk.
The draconian steps taken are to specifically protect these at risk groups who are predominately represented in the Italian death toll.

I think the Trumpfans are struggling to find any dirt on him. He's good to go....go Joe!
I'm not a trumpfan, but here you go Joe Biden Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Senate Aide In 1993
If Biden did do this, and it's provable, then the Dems should look for another candidate, as that would be unforgivable.
If it's true that the alleged victim was politically motivated, and had praised Putin on line, then she's done an unforgivable disservice to all legitimate victims of sexual assault.

He and his spawn are a bunch of grifters. There is more than enough documented evidence to back it up, provided by Mueller and congress.
Just because Trump is taking a salary hardly makes him a good guy in itself.
There's no "but, but, but" about it.

If CV turns out to not be the crisis it was built up to be, that will mean Trump's reported initial instincts were correct and make him a hero rather than a villain. And his opposers and detractors will have egg on their face. If what that Swiss doc says ends up being considered correct that is.

The opinion of one doctor, as opposed to all the virus professionals who say otherwise.
Not going to make Trump look like a hero. Just a narcissist devoid of empathy.

I meant if that doctor turns out to be right. Read what all the virus professionals claimed about the 2009 pandemic.
I mean a hero to people not as extremely partisan as you.

Why not take draconian steps to protect people from dying from the many other things that have a higher mortality rate than CV?
As far as I know, this SARS virus is more transmissible.
