:D :D :D you must watch the video! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/8087878.stm

Quote:
A cat that enjoys playing the piano has had a piece of chamber music written for her by acclaimed Lithuanian conductor.

Nora's musical skills have made her a Youtube sensation, US media star, and also the object of a video on animal behaviour.

Mindaugas Piecaitis's four-minute piece for the Klaipeda chamber orchestra had its premiere on Friday, with a video of the six-year-old feline soloist in the background.

Jane Bennett-Powell reports.

Why I know her, it's Nora!! ! :D

I've kept tabs on that cat and never get bored whenever she performs. I recommend watching all her videos, she's also very protective of her piano.

Nice. My cat doesn't really like music.

Why that is Nora!
This isn't news, she has been famous for well over a year.

People are being entertained by the sounds of a cat randomly hitting piano keys, and they're talking about how beautiful it sounds and how talented the cat is?

Alright, after watching half of that video, I'm convinced, I no longer have any faith in society. The world is officially coming to an end, and I'm just gonna go get a bottle of Mescal and keep taking shots as I watch society collapse and fall in on itself.

I can't take it anymore, people used to be concerned with coming up with new advances for modern life, news media used to report what was actually relevant to our society. All the American news outlets are already going down the tube, so I've been trusting the BBC for my actual world news, until now.

The world is coming to an end, human life is over as we know it. Darwin was right, only the smartest and the strongest survive. And now, one of the only reputable news outlets left in the world is reporting on how people are facinated by the sounds of a cat randomly bashing the keys on a piano. It's not about the comedic value either, people are actually calling the cat talented. This has got to stop, I can't take it anymore, even the smartest are starting to fail. Soon the people living in trailers drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon in the back woods of Alabama will be the model of intelligence in the world. All books will be replaced by TV, all good actors will be replaced by Ben Stiller wannabes, the great universities will be teaching their honor students that if you put tires on the roofs of your trailers, that will protect you from the tornadoes. Life as we know it is now over.

I'm about as impressed as whenever I hear about a "talented" dog who can speak the English words of "rough" and "roof".

Now that's unfair. This behavior appears fairly advanced, even if the cat isn't making beautiful music.

Although, it reminds me of the performance artist cat "Maru", although Maru's got some hilarious commentary/analysis of the meaning.
