The entire concept of Internet addiction is controversial anyway. Besides, so is the Chinese mental health system.

I suspect it is possible for a person to become an internet "addict", strictly speaking it would be a non physical dependency which is different to physical addiction. For example there is no such thing as a cocaine addict, there are however people who are psychologically dependant on cocaine.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

Gives new meaning to the term computer virus topic

Before the internet, AS people had speical interests. The internet is another interest to focus on. Having multiple interests (as i do) could be the key to helping the mono-obsessed.
