This is especially significant because Houston is one of the largest cities in the country. This is one of those rare moments when I don't feel so ashamed to live in Texas.

I wouldn't get too excited... in Texas, "openly gay" means a guy with good hair and a manicure. :wink:

:cheers: I'm very happy to live in Texas. What a great time for Houston . Houston is the largest city in Texas and the Fourth largest city in the nation. Houston is the largest city in America to have an openly gay mayor.

16.5% voter turnout? 8% voted for the Black guy. What an landslide!

Houston still has an economy, I do not understand why they have such low voter turnout.

Technically, Sam Adams didn't do anything wrong. At least he waited until the guy turned eighteen to have sexual relations with him. Things like this can happen to any politician-gay or straight.
