It's interesting because like many children who were diagnosed with ADHD that had bipolar disorder instead... because that was the diagnosis dujour so seems to be the case here.

Autism was the "fad" at the time of his diagnosis and it seemed to fit... so the doctors went with it.

It'll be interesting to see how many others' diagnoses get reversed because of this.

They should start by making sure the differences between Landau-Kleffner syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorders are clearly defined. Maybe what they should do is w/ "questionable cases" (can't tell which it is) is do the treatments that work for both conditions (along w/ checking family history) and combining the shared treatments with observation w/o giving a final diagnosis (use something like "temporarily undefinable neurological impairment" for a period of time).

Jenny says she wants vaccinations better researched — rather than getting rid of them altogether. And though her son may never have had autism, Jenny insists, “I’ll continue to be the voice” of the disease.

I wish it was a virulent disease then we could all cough on her and give her aspies
