I can hardly believe the level of cocked-uptness. FIFA and the World Cup organisers in South Africa, in their infinite wisdom, decided to sell most of the World Cup tickets to South African citizens On-Line - in a country where most people don't have internet access or a credit card. The computer system crashed and FIFA admit the process involved in buying the tickets on-line is too complex.

So, nearly 500,000 tickets are unsold and most probably they won't be bought by cash paying poor South Africans (the ticket prices are = average weekly wage). The opening match is on 11th June.

Ticket fiasco must not dent the football carnival

This is a perfect oppurtunity to be a scalper. Just hop on a plane to South Africa, buy the unsold tickets and sell them in the cities at more affordable prices and you'll be sitting on a gold mine by World Cup's end! 8)

Of course they may have regulations over there which would prevent people from doing this sort of thing. I dunno.
