That's Southern VA, Tim.

They're a little different from Northern VA.

Quote:
One photograph showed three shirtless young men, with one man's upper buttocks showing.

That poster is in the front of the local A & F here. I noticed it the other day and promptly complained (to my husband). I don't really get the angle. Are they saying this:
Teen guy: Ooh, look at that guy's butt! If I buy my clothes here, I can look like that!
or this:
Teen guy: Oh, look at that guy's butt! If I buy my clothes here, I can go out with guys like that!

:P I mean really. I know homoerotic images sell because people get turned on by the images and want to emulate them at the same time. But barely dressed and showing their crack?! And only with other guys?

This goes to show how far A&F will go to lure customers.
BTW, don't shop at A&F. They are a more expensive version of Wal-Mart.

odd that a company selling clothes mostly has pictures of people without clothes as their adverts.

A & F has been over the line in both adverts and the slogans it puts on clothing for years. I hope more locations start pulling their ads.

The real issue is government taking away our liberties and rights. "If convicted, the manager faces a fine of up to $2,000 and as much as a year in jail." Maybe you will do something the government doesn't like next. Do you want a year in jail for that? The government already robbed them of $50 million in 2004 because they didn't have as many black models as the government wanted. "In 2004, it agreed to pay $50 million to settle a lawsuit that accused the company of promoting whites over minorities and cultivating a virtually all-white image." Maybe next wearing a "Cure neurotypicals now" or "autistic pride" shirt will get you a two thousand dollar fine or a year in jail for offending NTs. Anyone who believes in freedom and wants the government to stay out of our lives should be outraged at what is happening.

First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the Communists and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.

This store has been known for being "provocative".

Pornographers are included on the list although I don't think A&F are showing off naked children
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... Id=6167856

IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN.
IN FACT, IT NEVER STOPPED.

v.2000
First they came for the hackers.
But I never did anything illegal with my computer,
so I didn't speak up.

Then they came for the pornographers.
But I thought there was too much smut on the Internet anyway,
so I didn't speak up

Then they came for me.

And by that time there was no one left to speak up.

Honestly I can't see what's so shocking about either ad. Oh well.

Hey now, don't include honest hackers in the same category as child pornographers!
