hurricane casualty

Two people were found dead near where I live. It is shocking. They were going through the hurricane and it's not known if the hurricane itself caused their deaths or what. But one of them went to my middle school. He rode my school bus. I thought he was cute and had pretty eyes and a calm all-knowing demeanor.

This does not compute with me. The things that happen. Who could imagine the things that will happen.

How did they die and what led up to it (besides just the weather)?

Found in a creek. Were walking a short distance in the middle of the night through woods/creekland from one house to another. Height of hurricane here but that was just pouring rain, wind, and I guess flooding in the river. Police haven't released information on what else might have caused their deaths but they say they can't attribute them to the hurricane with certainty.

Just sad.

It sounds like they may have tried to cross fast moving water. Most people don't realize that it's possible for less than 3 inches of it to sweep them away!
