In 2007, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Christopher Fessenden received a gift from his brother Ernie, back home in Rochester, Minnesota: a radio-controlled model truck with a wireless video camera.

Last week, says Fessenden, who's now stationed in Afghanistan after doing tours in Iraq, the gift came in handy. It saved the lives of six of his comrades, he told ABC News.

We should send them by the truck load...each soldier should have one!!

what a great idea!! snooping around corners and such and in closed spaces to find bombs and enemies.

I think there should be a donation drive to make them more avilable.

You could use them both for reconnaissance and bomb delivery, as people probably wouldn't expect a small remote controlled truck to be bombed.
