Any woman can wear a tux if she wants to, whether she's gay or straight or teenage or old age.. it's clothes!

I must admit though, being a lesbian, and liking relationships under the "butch-femme" heading, i would love to go out with a lady wearing a tux. SO cool! It would have to be somewhere we wouldn't get bothered though. But I can dream...

I'd like to wear a tux and go out with a guy wearing an evening gown or a bridal gown. But maybe only to a Halloween party. But most straight guys would rather have their heads chopped off than actually do that. :? It's okay for women to wear pants but people still have a problem with skirts and dresses on guys because SOCIETY STILL BELIEVES "FEMALE" THINGS ARE INFERIOR TO "MALE" THINGS! GRRR!! !

wouldn't be cool to challange the notion of bride and groom??
Like have the guy wear a wedding dress and play the role of the bride...and the lady dress in a tux and play the role of the groom.
That would be cool....hey I might just get married to do that. 8O

However finding a compliant "bride" would be challenging.

Women wearing a tux isn't necessarily to taboo as to attract negative attention. My high school band used to do that because it was cost effective and despite being in a moderately conservative area and having a lot of religious and especially Mormon families, nobody objected. Before the band director announced he was making the switch for the next year, he put out pictures of dresses to vote on. Then he later announced that no two women were ever going to agree on one dress so he's just getting everyone a tux. The tuxes proved infinitely more popular than the dresses. Later classes that never saw the dresses always had to inquire what all the dress jokes were about on performance days.

I doubt there will ever be a dress that will look presentable enough on a guy for them to be taken seriously. Designers have tried, but we just don't seem to be built for it.

While certainly not a dress (as any Scot will tell 'ya) - a traditional kilt looks mighty fine on a man!!

Epic :lmao:

A girl in a tux can be fun, or comical, and I generally don't mind girls wearing guy's clothes. There is an exception to every rule, mainly to the point at which a person just looks outright bizarre.

Utilikilts are a modern fusion of scottish kilts and cargo pants, and they seem to be very well-engineered. That said, I'm not sure I could get used to the breezy aspect, and they are still very expensive. I can't see myself wearing a dress for anything short of a prank or perhaps a hazing ritual (my father apparently marched through town in a dress for such a purpose). I like to have my shoulders and back covered, and I would be endlessly annoyed by the train of a wedding dress. My parents eloped (sort of), so I have a hard time believing that wedding clothes and ceremonial anything are remotely necessary. I'd rather keep that money, go to a justice of the peace, and have a party at my convenience.

Anyway, think that covers the stuff mentioned.

Perhaps there is no nice way to say it, so I'll just say it. The gender does not matter as much as the fit! If you don't have the legs to look good in a dress, wear slacks! Not skin-tight low-riders, not cargo shorts, not falling-off-your-butt gangsta pants, no; slacks or jeans that COVER. I mean women as well as men. No one wants to see either your boxer shorts or your thong panties, or bra straps. Is your body appropriate to the style and size of the clothes. If your pants are too big and falling down when you walk, buy a belt! As to women wearing men's suits, Princess Diana wore one of Prince Charles' dress suits to an event once and looked stunning. Celine Dionne had a men's suit custom tailored for herself so that she could wear the suit jacket backwards...SHE looked stunning..back in the 1930's, Marlene Dietrich wore men's tuxedo jackets for numerous performances..there are iconic portraits of her online; classic! Melissa Etheridge wore a tuxedo to the Oscars, looked great! Ellen DeGeneres wears suits all the time, and got married in a white one. Alan Cummings, Sean Connery, and Axl Rose Are ALWAYS wearing kilts. However, I don't want to even imagine Marlon Brando orRobbie Coltrane or William Shatner in one. Sylkat :(

Join a marching band?

My daughter has a tux. :)

I'd like to dye my hair some outrageous color like aqua or purple. Maybe not all of it, but just a bit for an accent.

But at my age and where I live that wouldn't go over well.

Maybe I should vacation in the Harajuku district in Tokyo. I can steal my kid's Dir en Grey t-shirt and dye my hair and fit right in.

As for women in tux, I love Jannell.

As for men in eh... Feminine clothes =D

I tend to wear sports clothes, because they are awfully comfortable. Never worn a tux =P But i see no problem with it, but i'm certain people would react more harshly of a man wearing a dress.
