Not much information...

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/gi ... 04179.html

...but those who refer to survivalism as a symptom of my pathology may soon be wishing they had been a little more pathological themselves.

I look forward to studying the extinction event of the 2100s to 2300s in a far-distant future incarnation.

Good thing we found that earth-like planet just a few hundred short light-years away...

Yes. I'm being somewhat sarcastic.

Good thing for any inhabitants of said planet that we don't. Assuming the planet is inhabited, we are now a means of transportation away from interplanetary warfare. Playing out the Colonial period on a galactic (intergalactic, I actually believe) scale.

Eh, I won't do that, you've got first row tickets to the most epic time in human history. Better to sit and watch the fireworks and have hope and then contribute to rebuilding the world's future. 8)

We must build archology to be protected of the elements, and developping aqua culture for our meals. Of course aqua culture would need a lot of energy. Let's then hope for the best.

Why? Fairly primitive folks have learned to get a sufficient food supply from the sea.

Geologic Time. Another warm period. The last was 22,000 to 27,000 years ago, sea level was seven meters higher, That ended in a sudden onset ice age.

Cosmic Time, every 26,000 years some mile wide craters form, That is due,

The smart money is on the New Madrid Quake, due any day, the biggest ever.

The Magnetic North Pole is moving from Canada toward Russia and picking up speed. About time for a reversal of the Poles.

This is great, if you like Earth Science.

I have a lawn chair and a cooler, bring it on!

I guess I didn't use the right words. I mean water tank in which you grow algae. That way you have don't to grow crops on vast surface of soils. Sad, but algae from waterf tanks may well be the future of our basic meals as the earth fall in a pretty bad state.

I suppose this is the reason behind the crazy mild winter, here in Sweden... I suppose it can only get worse, from now on. I wonder if the Gulf stream will come to a severe enough weakening, too, due to the melting fresh water mixing with the salt water, leading to an ice age... that'd be pretty dire news for anyone living in more northern areas... like here. :| There's already been clear signs of it losing its strength, years back. Add to that with the expected, major solar storms, and almost everyone would freeze to death in colder areas, due to failure of most electronics. I wonder if it indeed will turn out that way. :| I was going to prepare for this, but I lost almost all my savings... how pointless.

No hurry, this warming should last another thousand years.I did want to see the ice age, but that is for another life.

New Madrid, real soon, 2012, as it has gone off like clockwork about fourteen times we can read, every 200 years.

Mile wide craters Could be a thousand year window. I have hopes.

The upper Mississippi is a sure thing. A 9 with aftershocks lasting a year.

Can you please elaborate on the statements above? Also, what makes you say there's no risk of an ice age? I have heard otherwise, from, at least, reasonably reliable sources.
