I'm surprised no one else has caught onto this.

Link

And you can Google it to find other sites with similar info. To put it simply, Canadian researchers discover a cure for cancer, but the cure can't be patented; Which means no one wants to advertise it, since there's not much potential for money making.

Why hadn't the cure been discovered before? Scientists had been looking in the wrong place the whole time. This sorta stuff could've probably been found 25 years ago!

Sorry, folks...this story "started" in 2007 & isn't true.

Here is what happens when it was used on children:

A randomized controlled trial in children with congenital lactic acidosis found that while DCA was well tolerated, it was ineffective in improving clinical outcomes.[10] A separate trial of DCA in children with MELAS (a syndrome of inadequate mitochondrial function, leading to lactic acidosis) was halted early, as all 15 of the children receiving DCA experienced significant nerve toxicity without any evidence of benefit from the medication.[11] A randomized controlled trial of DCA in adults with lactic acidosis found that while DCA lowered blood lactate levels, it had no clinical benefit and did not improve hemodynamics or survival.[12]

Once again bullsh*t abounds.

We have. It just isn't true.

Irrelevant. The mere popularity of a false belief does not make it true - it has to actually be true to be true.

Sounds like another version of the water-fueled car, cold fusion, perpetual motion, and many other quack stories.

It was never discovered in the first place.

You can find stuff like this in the pages of any tabloid.

This sort of stuff should have been taken out to the desert and left to rot.

If the health care business wanted to lose lots of money, sure they would cure cancer. Nothing is more brilliant from a profit standpoint than to eliminate the number one source of profit for their industry. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the health care industry would collapse if cancer was cured. If there was no crime for a week, our economy would be shattered, since there are so many local and state police that would be phased out, along with Homeland Security and the FBI, but also lawyers. Without crime, what do you need lawyers for? Who would they sue? People that did nothing? <----of course. Cancer is the same way. We NEED cancer. It's good for America, and what's good for America is good for the world!

So whether there is an actual cure or not is beside the point. There will never be a cure, and any cure that does work will be "debunked" by apologists for as*holes in suits. That doesn't mean that a witchcraft potion for cancer is somehow being held back, but it does mean that the real problem isn't being addressed. Besides, if this DCA cure WAS released, these same people who cry conspiracy would come out of the woodwork and say that they put mind control drugs in there or something.

Oi! Sorry I'm a little susceptible! Especially when it's my own uncle that lead me astray.

Be a little more forgiving. I'm a naive little (not so much anymore) boy! I don't wanna be abused by these meanies, mommy...

Sorry for a false 'current event', then. On the inside, I suspected it was off the mark/false, but still fell for it.

For some interesting cancer research see: Danny Hillis: Understanding cancer through proteomics (a "TED talk" on how we might redefine our understanding of cancer based upon proteins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scITIoJvMJ0

The presentation by Hillis is a gem. He is a genuine genius.

Water cars, no. Hydrogen cars, yes.
Those and electric hybrids are becoming more common, thankfully. :)

What's next? Illegal party drugs treating leukemia? ...actually I threw that in to make a point! That particular claim is backed up (so far at least) by scientific study. See: http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/news/latest ... tment.aspx

On a similar note, wasn't nitrous oxide originally used for parties when it was first discovered? I don't think it was used for anything medical until about 20 years later.

This is a must watch. The cure for cancer has been here all along, but unfortunately the pharma companies would go out of business, so it's "illegal" even though scientific evidence proves that marijuana kills cancer cells.
