I wonder what the comic book characters will be like now.

It's likely that a majority of the Marvel adaptations will be distributed by Disney through Touchstone Pictures. So you should never judge a book by its cover.

Then again, most comic book adaptations regardless of what studio makes them are usually a hit or miss.

I'm kinda sick of the whole comic-book movie fad though. I just want it to die so bad. :P

I thought Disney got rid of Touchstone.

In any case, isn't John Lasseter (the Pixar guy) mostly running Disney now?

If so, he'd be following his "Story is King" creed and it could result in some very good pictures.

Of course, since most of the good characters are already leased to other studios (eg: The Hulk and Spiderman),

Who is left for Disney to play with?
I don't read comics but I'm sure someone here could tell us.

Actually, the only bad thing that I can see about this is that Disney may hold back on the material to achieve a lower rating (ie: PG) but that seems to be happening anyway.

Disney has made several PG-13 movies

It's going to be interesting to see how this turns out.

It seems that Disney is running on fumes since they're desperate for a hit movie, despite having Pixar on its side.

yeah, especially since that whole Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy completely tanked at the box office. And that whole ESPN purchase. and that they own ABC. And all those tween media sensations at the Disney Channel.

Disney must be gagging for a profit... their earnings went up, for a third year in a row.

it's "bought" btw (in the title).

And uh, my only concern is that they keep the Marvel name as it is. It did some amazing work and i'm slightly sad to see it being bought by Disney.

I'm kind of expecting Disney to merge with EA at some point and bring the end of the world as we know it.

While I doubt Disney's track record for making more child-oriented (but still wickedly awesome) movies will influence the Marvel characters as many people will fail to understand, it's kind of irritating to see so many good companies be bought out by an even bigger company.

I'm sure not all the Marvel characters have been optioned... look for some of these characters in upcoming disney movies, possibly co-starring Donald Duck... The Ten Strangest Marvel Characters

If you're talking about Disney characters being mixed with others...

No, this is going to fail really hard.
