Huffington Post

The above link was posted in another thread, but I though it deserved it's own. I think this is a great move forward. So much money and effort is spent in trying to eradicate marijuana, much better to learn to live with it.

I predict that Colorado will be the new Seattle.

Seattle, WA(and the rest of the state) legalized it too. Not sure what oliveoilmom meant about a state becoming like a city though. :?

Did they legalize it, period, or did they only legalize "medical"?

Colorado had legalized medical marijuana years ago, but so far, they were the first state to actually legalize it for recreational use. Washington State also legalized marijuana, while in California 2 years ago, the legalization measure failed. California still has legalized medical marijuana, but that's it.

The feds won't be able to feed private prison pigs much longer... there will be an uproar if they tried to prosecute people in Colorado using marijuana legally under state law!

I was a little pissed that the measure didn't pass here in Oregon, but two-states is still a victory since it'll probably get the ball rolling for marijuana to be legal in every state before very long. :)

Back in the early 90's Seattle became the hot place to be for music. Kids would leave home and move to Seattle for no other reason than the music, and because it was the hot spot. So many kids left home and moved there that it became a problem and the locals complained a lot. It was overrun with older teens and college age kids, just there for the grunge.

Oh wow! And they say marijuana being legal will hurt alcohol sales. HOGWASH! Marijuana and alcohol go well together.

Marijuana also has medicinal benefits for autism, but few medicinal states recognize autism as qualifying condition. Hopefully this helps some of you out there get access to medication. It is a known alternative to pharmaceutical anti-depressants and pain relievers. I find heavy sativas (high thc low cbd) to work well in my case.
