This is such a random thing to see in a store, eh? I especially love the coat the owners had it in.

It's not exactly ethical. Monkeys that are kept as pets are prematurely taken from their mothers. Unlike dogs and cats, which have been genetically domesticated for thousands of years, monkeys are wild animals and belong with their own social groups.

He is adorable, I love the coat.
He could have been born in a zoo, he looks very well cared for.
I hope there are more pictures.

Not really, actually. There is a reason why it's illegal to own wild animals. How would you like it if you were stripped from your human family and you were raised by an alien species? You wouldn't even know how to recognize your own kind. You wouldn't even know how to talk to another human. What these people did was extremely selfish and shows the egregious lack of empathy humans have for animals.

^^^^^^^When Obama went to India they wanted to make sure another politician didn't get pushed off a balcony like an Indian statesman, monkeys did it ,no joke. They had monkey cops with big trained monkeys to run off the smaller trouble making monkeys. They had special monkey patrols.

At this point in his life, the little monkey knows only the life he has had.
In a zoo, other monkeys would pick on him, he would be unable to defend himself.
He was, and is, loved, and should be allowed to return to his home to live out his life as a pet.
Agreed that the law says he should not be a pet, returning him is the kindest solution for him.

Maybe he can get a part time job putting that darn IKEA furniture together. He'd probably make a fortune. I'm sure he'd be better at it than I am.

I vote for your solution!

That will be his day job, and he will go home at night.

His name is Darwin, he is seven months old, was bought legally from a breeder, and his owner loves him very much.

There are videos of him at home, on YouTube.

I do not know how to do 'links'.

Considering that the monkey constitutes a prohibited animal, the fact that the owner loves it very much is completely irrelevant. I laughed when I read that she was planning on taking legal action to get it back.

It's true that it should never have been a pet,but it's bound to be scared where it is now.It looked well cared for,it seems cruel not to return it to the only home it's ever known.
