Charles Durning, a very, very busy character actor, has died. He was born in 1923...

You have seen him in dozens if not hundreds of movies.

I especially liked him as Willy Loman's neighbor in the Dustin Hoffman, John Malchovich version of Death Of A Salesman,, as well as his role as a former pimp trying to gain social stature as Catholic layman of the year, in the DeNiro, DeVaul fictionalized version of the Black Dahlia murder, True Confessions. He's one of those actors who's been around for my entire life, and I just took it for granted he'd always be. He'll be missed.
