The more pressure to stop poaching and the smuggling of animals the better.
Just got my copy of Galapagos news, big feature on Lonesome George and the Giant Tortoise Recovery Project. They are BBB accredited charity,go to www.galapagos.org
In July the Galapagos police arrested a German national for trying to smuggle four Land Iguanas off the island in his luggage.Fijan authorities had arrested this man last year for trying to smuggle a gravid female Fijian Iguana out of the country.
These people need more than a slap on the wrist.

Google recently began using drones in Africa specifically for watching over the wildlife in order to fight against poaching . Poachers will be photographed and tracked by the drones. I just thought that was neat!

Would that be available as legal evidence to convict? It's all good work for high technology, but if it's inadmissible evidence then surely the funds used for that technology should be moved to the ground staff and security equipment. It has to be able to produce legal criminal results.

But it's a start and that should be recognized.
