Keep in mind that they are going over the road with snow removal equipment which is going to pile the snow up to the side of the road.

What would be interesting would be to see how deep the snow is a short distance, say 50 feet or more, from the road.

Ever since I heard about the place, I'd love to spend a winter at Michigan Tech in Houghton, Michigan. As I understand it, they get an average of something like 180 inches of snow a year.

Eric,
Not sure how much snow officially fell because of drifting. I heard Asia is having a rough winter tho and the headline read Snow Tsunami so maybe it's a couple of feet? Sure looks like fun! I would love all that snow! Maybe. If my roof collapsed, no. If nothing happened it would be fabulous! It would be interesting to get so much snow the car is completely covered by it.

I am envious of all those snow plows! Wish they had that many around here because many major roads do not get plowed and they end up in really horrid condition after a snow/ice storm.

We generally do pretty good around here if the snow isn't very bad. The snowplows here are simple blades on the front of trucks. If we had a serious snow, they wouldn't be able to handle it.

I genuinely fear for the homeless in Russia, right now. Here, you always hear about the homeless dying of exposure when it gets too cold. Imagine the death toll there!

Awesome!
I used to like getting "snow days" when they'd have to close schools for a day or two.

Snow good, ice bad.But the homeless, jeez,I hate to think of someone sleeping in the cold.

I like the snow, quiet, and animal tracks.
Please no ice,the last ice storm left people without power for weeks.

I laughed when I saw the bottle of whiskey (is it whiskey?) stuck in a snowpile. What a clever idea.
