  • The mother of Marc Dutroux has warned that her son, Belgium's notorious serial child murderer, will kill again if he is ever released from prison.
A Belgian court will today rule on Dutroux's appeal for early release from prison even though he has almost no chance of being granted parole this April.

Dutoux was convicted to life in jail in 2004 after being found guilty of kidnapping and raping six girls and the murdering four of his victims in horrific circumstances in the 1990s.

Jeannine Dutroux, 78, the murderer's mother, has broken a decade of silence to warn that her son is still dangerous because he has refused to take responsibility for his crimes.

Good for her for breaking the natural instinct for a mother to protect her son, and, in doing so, defend the wellbeing of other children.
